and is it equal to running on a treadmill?

This is something I wonder.

Lately i've been doing about 5 miles on this full body, eliptical machine, then sometimes I run another mile on the treadmill...so am I fronting if I say "I ran 6 miles today"

it don't feel like you're running on the Eliptical...to compensate, I normally do it at a higher level, like 15 to make it harder.

But, is running on eliptical machine as effective as running on treadmill or on a track or something?

elliptical has no impact so it feels less strenuous.

Treadmill is determined by your speed setting unlike an elliptical so thats probably why u feel more taxed on a tread mill.

Exercise is exercise once you feel your heart rate change and start sweating

I dont think so. Miles on an elliptical has to be somwhere between the treadmill and a bike..

Co-sign. I've lost 67 pounds by using only the elliptical machine since mid june. I use it for 50 minutes. 5 minutes of warm up time. Then after that I keep the rpm's from 93 to 95 for 45 minutes straight. I lost weight all over. I enjoy it way more than that damn threadmill!

Pretty much; doesn't really matter what the exercise is, but what matters is that your reaching your target heart rate for a sustained period of time.

 wow. I feel the elliptical much more than regular running... maybe you don't have enough resistance?

yall should switch it up. When i do use it, I do maybe like 5 minutes forward, 5 minutes backwards, 5 minutes forward again, and etc.
