Ok, Hard Knock Life Tour is all I can give him, but besides that 50 has him beat in every category in terms of making money.

Jay-Z never had a major motion picture like Pac, Nas, Eminem, or 50 just did.
Jay-Z's was never able to bank off of Roc-A-Fella artist becuz they all sold poorly while 50's only put out one non-platinum release.
Jay-Z's album sales have like a 2 triangle average. 50's has like what 6 mill?
Jay-Z has RocaWear and has had it longer than G Unit was making clothing, (so I cant compare that)
Both of their sneakers came out at the same time, but Jay's was the biggest selling sneaker in Reebok history. (Fact)

So besides clothing... why does everyone think that Jay is clearly more wealthy than 50?

Only fiesable reason I can come up with is that Jay had been touring for more money than 50 did for like 4 years and that Jay wears suits and dresses to impress while 50 wears his clothes.

But touring can't make you THAT much money can it?

that's the worst comparison ever.

first off, jay was a better drug dealer and kept all of his money.

second, jay owns his label and g-unit is owned by interscope, aftermath, AND Shady.

third, sheer property value that jay-s owns is over 150 million, including houses, yachts, leer jets, cars, both 40/40 clubs, and the office buildings of all the companies he owns.

fourth, 50 has to pay back most of the money he makes on albums, jay's is a lot less, so jay made more money off of his platinum plaques than 50 did, even if jay sold less.

fifth, you are a groupie... get off that computer at the library and stop wishing you were fifty.

first off, I must agree that you sound like a groupie bytch. but anyway....

Fade to Black, caking off concert footage costs next to nothing. Let's also not for get that GRODT flopped. How much money you think 50 really made off that movie?

Jay-Z's was never able to bank off of Roc-A-Fella artist becuz they all sold poorly while 50's only put out one non-platinum release.

They all sold poorly? Well let's see. Use your head. If you combine all their sales, they've sold many more than G-Unit havent they? Think about it. Minimum promotion, decent sales and a killer deal with Def Jam. Rocafella was owned outright by Biggs, Jay & Dame so they got a monster deal with more profits and ownership than 50 can dream of seeing.

Not to mention direct to video movies including Streets is Watching, State Property, etc. The 40/40 clubs, Nets ownership, the cosmetics line, and a Def Jam salary.

Jay-Z's album sales have like a 2 triangle average. 50's has like what 6 mill?

you're comparing two albums worth of sales to 10 years in the game and Vol.1 X1.5, Vol. 2 X4 Vol. 3 x 2, Dynasty X1, Blueprint X2 BP3 x2, Black album X3, Linkin Park Mashup X1. That's only in the US.

Plus Jay owns just about ALL his publishing.

Jay-Z has RocaWear and has had it longer than G Unit was making clothing, (so I cant compare that)

Then why bring it up? But you already give Jay-Z another point of the win.

Both of their sneakers came out at the same time, but Jay's was the biggest selling sneaker in Reebok history. (Fact)

that's another one

It's alot more than that, as you can clearly see.

Whoa, whoa, whoa... I never said I want 50 to be rich. I dont care about 50 or Jay. I just wanted to know what psychological conception of Jay do everyone have that associates him with money and 50 with "dirty" money?

I dont know neithe rof their pockets, just some endeavors and by the way 50 makes decisions on business he's more bullheaded than Jay and also has more different things he's gotten into in such a short period of time.

You make 10X more money selling clothes than selling records.

So eliminate the "record sales" aspect of your argument and you have your answer.

Selling clothes is easy. You hire somebody out of college with a degree in fashion to design the clothes and pay that person $35,000 per year.

You buy the wholesale material (cloth, zippers, buttons, etc.) wholesale, in bulk.

You pay some starving 8 year old in Asia $0.10 per day to make the clothes.

You ship the clothes over here and sell them in bulk to stores like Macy's, Filenes, etc.

There's no royalties involved with clothes. When the clothing sells, the owner of the clothing line keeps all the money. There's no sample clearances, no royalties (you don't pay the designer a royalty).

And the clothes sell themselves. I mean, people are gonna buy Jay Z's clothes because its Jay Z. People are gonna buy 50 Cent's clothes because its 50 Cent. You can mark up the price to like $60 for a shirt and people will buy it. You do not need to be in all the fashion magazines like Ralph Lauren or Gucci because you are not really a "designer". You are a rapper with 2 million fans who are gonna buy your clothes because they liked your flow in the mid 90s.

So the sales of the massacre vs The Black Album are irrelevant. That's pennies compared to the amount of money they make selling a cloth t-shirt with an ironed on logo for $20-$30.
