These ****ing Navy ads and the other ones with the kung fu video game guy that pop up on screen rather than in a new window are absolutely ridiculous. They come up damn near every page you visit, and it is making SOHH impossible to browse. Can't you fund the website with some normal ads? SMH
you want to be able to come to the boards right?
just deal with it, no matter how annoying it may be.
thanks B

Nah, the issue of paying for the boards isn't really relevant because there are other types of ads other than big ass ones that cover your whole screen and make it so you can't even click on the reply button or read the posts.

The Navy one isn't bad because it only comes up on occasion but that stupid fukking Circuit City ad with the kung fu guy is probably the most annoying ad I've ever seen on any forum ever. Every page it comes up and even when it disappears, you can't click anywhere in the area that it came up because it turns into an invisible ad. The only way to get rid of it is to click the close button after scrolling down and even THAT doesn't always work because 3/4 of the button is actually still part of the ad so if you click it Circuit City's page pops up.
Might as well load this place up with spyware since no one seems to care about the people who actually visit the site.

maybe if you made a monetary contribution that would replace our ad revenues we could get rid of the ads.
if you're intereted in advertising at sohh.com please visit http://ais.sohh.com/

No need for the sarcastic comments like I don't understand the concept of financing the website.
Anyone who tells me that you HAVE to have that particular ad in order to pay the bills is straight up lying though.
Not to mention, but annoying ads like that = less people on the site = less ad money. Pretty counter productive actually.

we can't really pick and choose our advertisers though.
more pervasive ads are becoming more common all the time.

This new Circuit City as with the girl running across the screen doesn't even have a close button SMH
So basically we have to sit there and wait for it to turn invisible, then wait for the invisible ad to disappear before clicking on threads

yeah it sucks, but it's a necessary evil.
