...where this fascination sprung from I have no idea (actually scratch that, it was after hearing one of their songs on the trainspotting soundtrack), but they have some AMAZING work. Does anybody else on here fukk with them?

One of my favorite bands. They're even more impressive considering their most famous member committed suicide and not only did they not break up, they got better.

dunno bout all that....Joy division really aint get a chance to make as much noise as New Order, but nonetheless New Order is slowly creepin into my top 25

It's just that New Order has so many different kinds of songs whereas most Joy Division songs are really similar. Not really a complaint because Joy Division is one of my favorite badns too, but they don't have anything as good as "Temptation".

BTW check out the NIN cover of Dead Souls by Joy Division, it's a classic cover.

well they've been around forever making great music since I've been in middle school(??) at least (yeah i'm old. no dating! ) ....just interesting to hear someone say they just started checking for their stuff. Bizarre Love Triangle is still my ring tone on my celly. heh. great band.
well see...I'm only 20, and its not as if I've never heard of them, its just that I didn't grow up with them ala late 20-mid 30 types such as yourself. Its a bit like someone "wow"-ing you for getting into the Beatles after 1969....but ya, great band.

IF they came out when you were in middle school, that would make you almost 40. They've been around since 81-82.

man i didn't say they CAME OUT when i was in middle school. chill with that. i remember them making dope sh*t since my middle school days ....(long time ago) & i'm only 26. first got into em around 5th\6th grade.... same with The Cure who've been around since '79 (the year i was born). i remember they used to get mad airplay on the radio circa '88-'92... if dude says he's 20 he should no doubt have been up on some New Order before now...esp with all the 'indie" stuff i see him posting in that other thread. just seemed kinda odd to me. no biggie though...*shrugs*

I still don't see how you figure I should have been up on New Order? especially if they were "on the radio" from when I was 3-7? please enlighten me, because Im rather curious at this point. Just admit you were trying to pull some card, its ok. Exposure is a relative thing my friend....

hey...i was only a year old when Cure came out with their first cd. yet i've been a die hard cure fan since about age 10. it's out there to be found if you're looking for it. just surprised you managed to find it so "late". but whatever. i'm not pulling sh*t. lol. like i said before... better late than never right...heh.

New Order was defiantely not on the radio in 95 (a fact you yourslef pointed out). So again I ask, how am I late? And I'm sorry, but when you don't have others influencing your taste (which Im sure you did) at the age of 10 in the mid 90s most kids favorite music was what was on the radio (big/boyzIImen/greenday/bush/Nirvana/MJ/etc.) And lol at you denying your passive upturned nose form the original post. actually ....depneding on what radio station(s) you were listening in '95 they (New Order) was still getting airplay... *opps* there I go with my subtle snobbery again..... my apologies. i'm working on that. lol

once again...you comin off real lame right now. you're 26 and scoffing at what people listen to. How cool is that? And please tell me how I have made any excuses. Its fact, and its really that simple. I had not listened to new Order before about a month ago.Is there a problem there?
