its not an opinion..its pretty much a fact. Sisqo admitted to basically sharkin his steez...thats why they switched it up later on.

I can't front though, their first album was dope as hell.

Thats because Jodeci holds the blueprint to the whole R&B crossover/sex/grime music.

I don't think they sound the same though....maybe its because you're a youngin.

I'm not a youngin', but Dru Hill was a definite ripoff of Jodeci.

Nope, on Dru Hill latter cd's ,they seemed to pattern themselves after Jodeci. They wasn't like that @ first.

No group could be Jodeci, not even Jodeci!

No way do Sisqo and K-Ci sound the same. K-Ci's voice is RAW. Straight raw like a Bobby Womack type voice so the closest I can say is that they may be reminiscent.

Sisqo's cool and Dru Hill's first album was definitely nice but I all I can really agree with is that K-Ci and Sisqo played the rougher edge of the track and Jazz and JoJo smoothed it out on their end and complimented them.

I always wanted Jazz to come out with a solo album. Or JoJo of course.

Sisqo's does his adlibs with his Jodeci cd in the headphones.. hands down..

just listen to "Forever My Lady" - Jodeci..

good example of how Sisqo took the steez

That is my favorite group

Are you serious???

Me and Garfield are supposed to be married this very day
but little things like age, distance, and the fact he doesn't
know I exist, got in the way.

Those are minor details to me :p

:headphone

I remember all of that shlt.

Dru Hill tried to pattern themselves after Jodeci but Jodeci had way different production. They redefined everything Bell Biv Devoe and them was doing in the late 80s-1990. Updated that sound and made New Jack Swing not sound so corny, although some people continued to make it sound corny.

Groups like Jodeci are the real reason why Hip Hop and R&B are synonymous today... it ain't the sampling.

That's b/c Sisqo studied K-Ci's whole style. Its one thing to naturally sound like someone. but Sisqo got K-ci's riff's down exactly. And dru hill is never fukking with Jodeci (for the record)

Devante is reallly slept on as a producer. he was fire. That track he did for 2pac onAll eyes on me "No More Pain" was ridiculous

Dru Hill always gave Jodeci the credit for their styles

Jodeci and Boys II Men use to go at it but in the hood Jodeci had it

Dru Hill sounded just like Jodeci when they first came out. I remember that song "Tell Me," their first single, I thought it was Jodeci. But as they kept releasing hits the Jodeci comparison didn't make much sense anymore. Dru Hill was really good at covering songs, the first two CD's was on some nice R&B ****.

Devante is reallly slept on as a producer.

wasnt he supposed to be an in-house producer for death row?

anyway, i find it kinda funny how he gave arguably his best beat to h-town for "part time lover" on the above the rim sdtk. h-town was big at the time too. too bad they never had the proper r&b label backing. they still sold crazy. since yall throwing names around.

and yea, dru hill are like the late '90s/'00s jodeci.
sisqo= k-ci
jaz= jojo
nokio= devante
woody= dalvin
and if you dont hear the similarities, then you wilin'. and when they first came out, they was real similar but quickly made their own identity. wheres dru hill at anyway? they added a 5th member and dropped an album 3 years ago and thats it?

**still waits for jodeci reunion. 4 years and counting**

Jodeci was better.

Jodeci's cover of Lately > Stevie Wonder's version
K-Ci's cover of If You Think You're Lonely > Bobby Womack's version

I love Les Nubians.
I just wish , they had English transilations for their lyrics
because I don't speak a lick of French.

dru hill stepped in just as jodeci was broke up.. so the comparisons have always been there but only because no other r&b group filled the huge void in r&b that jodeci left.

and whoever said that k-ci's voice was more RAW was on point. sisqo's vox are butter soft compared to k-ci. end of discussion.
