from what i hear they contain omega 3 fatty acids, which
1) is good cholesterol that helps your heart
2) supposed to aid in weight/fat loss
Too much to post and not enough time, but run a search on www.bodybuilding.com or even Google and it will answer all questions.
I suggest you drop the capsules, cop the oil, and take it straight up. Caps don't give you nearly enough EFAs so chances are your not benefiting from them at all.

Well i got a big ass container of them. 200 capsules. Should I just like take 4 a day to compensate?
how do you take the oil? You cook with it? Or just eat it straight up?
How does it compare to Olive oil?

They sell Flax Seed Oil at most nutrition/health stores. You take a few tablespoons a day straight up. Its not made for cooking and is different from Olive Oil.
Just look at the nutrition label on a capsule bottle and compare it to a Bottle of Flax Seed Oil. You'll notice the huge difference in EFAs and also the cost benefit of buying the Oil. Taking extra caps might help, but your looking at 10-12 capsules a day to match the amount found in a few spoons of the oil.
I take 2-3 Tablespoons in the morning when I wake up and go about my business. You really can't get enough of this sh*t no matter how much you try. Just be careful of the total calories you are taking in; Flax Seed Oil is calorie dense.

from what i am reading about these on different websites opinions vary but as far as the capsules, it is not good to take too much...you probably have the same dark GNC bottle I have and they are 500 mg per capsule. I hear 2000 mg is about what you need and if you take too much it can affect you negatively....but anyway these websites generally claim it is for; muscle building, fat loss, mood enhancement in some people, cardio vascular health. i guess those fatty acids aint no joke b

It's pretty much a healthy fat that aids in the loss of bad fats, it's really good to take since it has alot of benefits. It's decent as a weight loss supplement if it's mixed with the right supplement such as

You can take flax and fish oil together, it's really a must for everyone to take and it's very cheap.
