Dunno about how many lbs, but I can bench 50kg on free weights - never tried anything heavier. Do 30 reps per set of 50kg, and 3 sets per day.
On machine I can lift 100kg, again havn't tried anything heavier..

Bench 245
I weight 215
I hate these threads, but I'll go along with it.
I bench 285-295 right now (it will be 340 by the end of this year).
i'm about 185lbs. Maybe more, Maybe less.
I'm starting my new workout regime today and should be repping 315 in the next few months (hopefully).
and squats, i'm not sure. Last I squated, i repped 365 about 12-15 times. I haven't maxed out in fear of my back not being able to handle the weight, but i should be maxing at about 500, for now. My goals are in my sig.

Yeah, I love deadlifts as well. Its one of those overall body strangth exercises, I love it. 280 is not too bad, just keep hitting it and eating and you should get back to lift 405lbs.
keep up the goodwork in the gym.

I know you can rep out more than 4 times with 315 if you still maxing 405. I could rep 315 a good 7-8 times when I could still hit 405.

I know, everytime I bench 315lbs after Im done with the 4th I always feel like I could have done more reps. I do it with a spotter as well and he only helps me on the 4th rep really. I can probably do 6-8 reps with 315lbs. For some reason I just stop at 4 reps. Maybe is because Im not a big fan BB pec pressing exercises, I prefer flys, and DB pressing movements.

Bench:on a really weak day 135lbs 5 reps of 10/185 2 reps of 10 1 rep of 8 then 1 rep 0f 6(on an average day)/on a good day 225 3 to 4 reps of 6.
Max: 240lbs 4x 275 1x on the machine I was max 275 4 or 5x and 315 1x.
I don't know I'm competative if I see one of my buls lifting like 300+ I can do it (sometimes)but any other time  I don't be lifting right as you can see so I don't really know my true max

Well put. Deadlifts definitely show how strong you are overall moreso than just bench. You won't hear a lot of people mention them though because like 90% of people don't f*ck with them and they are missing out.

Increased my bench to 270 yesterday...going for 275 this week...6 weeks to 300lbs max if I stay focused...

Truth. I remember years ago when I was plateauing, deadlifts were the answer... that and getting a better training split. Can't overlook power-cleans either; another great exercise for building explosiveness and intensity in your lifts.
Max Bench as of 9/9/05: 435 lbs. (I've been stuck at this weight for three months now  )
I'm planning on going Dumbbells for 8 straight weeks then going back to the bar to see if it will break this plateau. This technique has helped me in the past, but not with that much weight.

go there and do there program, it helped me majorly along with doing dips. stay focused and have motivation and youll reach your goal sometime in this lifetime...i think i might plateau this week at 275...
I benched yesterday. i don't know if I'm just having off days, if it's my form, or whatever. I was doing my program really well until like the third set were I had to rep 270 twice. I repped 275, 2 1/2 (I needed a lil spotter help) about a month ago.
Then I changed my form and did a couple of negatives from 295 - 315 (I felt like I could get 295 up though).
I don't take shakes no more though, I need to start back.

Naw, i don't think I am. I wish i could go to a serious gym, in the trenches somewhere or off in the cut, and just workout there for like a year. If I could do that, i'd be a beast by then.
And I mainly took them shakes because it was cheaper than buying all that food and it's hard for me to put on weight already. It wasn't weightgainer I was taking, just protein.
I been feeling tired as fukk lately. I got squats today, i might rest a little before I go.

I should be around 300 by now, but I think I regressed also. I really have no motivation like I used to.
Those negatives got my adrenaline flowing though. They weren't really as heavy as I thought, so I did about 5 of them (I was supposed to do 1) after my sets. I was going by what the routine said though. Next time I do negs, I'll try at 315-320, for about 1-2 sets. I'm trying to get to 340 by the end of the year. I think I could get it.

Try some different grip variations. Finding YOUR grip can give you an instant 20-30 lbs. boost.

Word? That just got me a little excited right there. I feel like I lost the form that helped boost my bench from 240 to 285 a few months ago. I'm gonna get serious next week, and also by some of my shakes.
I felt like sh*t after I didn't get 270 up for the second and third set. Its horrible...

Grip and hand placement are vital. I'm gonna post some links to pics and tutorials when I get back from class for ya.

What I did to figure out my hand placement was to use the bar alone, place it til it was on the lower part of my chest and find the place on the bar in which my forearms are perpendicular to the floor and memorized that position on the bar.
What I did to figure out my hand placement was to use the bar alone, place it til it was on the lower part of my chest and find the place on the bar in which my forearms are perpendicular to the floor and memorized that position on the bar.
Thats the main goal. You want raise the bar above the lower part of your chest and do so straight-up then back down. Its easier done when you bring your elbows in a lil bit, but widen your grip a lil bit as well. Arching the bar as you go up isn't needed. For some people who have trouble with arching I tell them to use a thumbless grip to make SURE they go straight up and down, but it can be dangerous with heavier weights. Make sure you have a spot if you try thumbless. Arching isn't bad, but it just takes more energy and power that can be diverted to your actual lift.
This also works to lower the distance you have to raise the bar (bringing elbows in a lil and widening grip). Your still working your entire chest, even better I might add, but your reducing the space needed for the bar to travel.
But do what Shaolin said and use JUST the bar to find the grip and best suits you. The advice I gave is what helped me and others I know, and are just suggestions.
