also the lyrics Cube was spittin on "Parental Discretion iz advised" was just
I be what is known as a bandit
You gotta hand it to me when you truely understand it
'Cause if you fail to see, read it in brail
Would it still be funky, so what's next is the flex
Of a genius, mirander stutter stepping, if you seen this
Dope, you hope that I don't really mean this
But it play, making greater high top fade
It's not my trademark when I get loose in the dark
You guess it was a test of a different style
It's just another mutha****er on the pile
Driving your ass with the floor of your tongue
You hung yourself short, be after knowledge was brung
To your attention by the hardest mutha****ing artist
That is know for lenching any sucker in a minute
Stagger 'em all
When I start flowing like Niagra Falls
Ice Cube is a quick to rip **** in a battle
Move like a snake when I'm mad and then my tail rattle
I get low on a flow so let your kids know
When I bust, parental discretion is a must
  :king:

(Ice Cube) Grand Finale

Picture a n!gga that's raw
Amplify his ass and what you see is what's on
Muthafukkas I slaughter, blow em out the water
Word to me, fukk the father
My melody is deadly as a pin in a handgrenade
5 seconds before you get played
You can't throw me, I guess you'll blow up
Ever see a sucker scatter, it'll make ya throw up
Then I take advantage, you can't manage
To get up, all you can do is sit up, and get lit up
Hit up, Ice Cube tearing sh!t up
Like a dude you can bet on
Collide like a head on
Collision, stutter steppin is an incision
Of a n!gga saying exactly what I vision
Because I'm gone, you think I left you all
But I stay in yo' ass like cholesterol
When I blast some solid ass alcatraz
And if you escape, you better swim fast
'Cause I'll catch ya, physically and mentally
And the capital punishment's the penalty
Sitting in the electric chair, grab a hold
Pull the switch, yo' body twitch, your eye's explode
Out your skull 'cause being dull on a flow
Is an N-O, n!ggas didn't know that I can go
Off and show off to throw off the law
Turn, take 10 paces then draw
What's left is a muthafukka dead in the alley
Ice Cube is the sh!t on the grand finale

The verse he wrote for easy on Grand Finale

The name is Eazy for me to come off like the inforcer'
Mass murder muthafukas in a course of
An everyday situation where I would stalk by
Fukk a car, I do a muthafuking walk-by
Eazy-E and the D.O. to the C. and
Run house and there won't be no disagreeing
'Cause if there is some, you feeling staticy
Then I'm arrested (For what) assault and battery
Never outdone, only outdoing
Loving the b!tches and leave the hoes boo hooing
Why? 'cause they're addicted to what my d!ck did
The pleasure of pain, the wing-ding inflicted
(Yea) and never forget when done in bed by
Eazy, the name of a Compton hard head
Cool but local like loc never broke
'Cause they're paid to be Ruthless, this is why I do this
I don't give a fukk about fame
I rather deal wit a number than a muthafuking name (word)
Get me paid and then rap
'Cause all the other bullsh!t money ain't jack
Eazy but not that Eazy to deal wit
Especially if you're poppin bullsh!t
Put the E-A-Z-Y and to the E
Expression of thought on the muthafuking grand finale

This classic track definitely needs to be heard to be fully appreciated

I don't know if I would go as far as 96 cause after The Predator I never was hugely into his solo ish and Westside Connection had its moments but was far from perfect. But of course Straight Outta Compton, Kill At Will, The Predator and of course Amerikkka's Most Wanted and Death Certificate are all incredible work.

I think your take on it just shows how good Cube really was. The fact that you didn't think Westside Connection was perfect played it down for you. Very few MCs are held to such a high standard and rightfully so. I agree with boombche tho, I thought Lethal Injection was dope too!

**** I am holding down the Vet Affairs forum with this thread lol...this should almost be bounced TO The Spot

... N.W.A was the sh*t; BUT, I never really got into the Cube solo stuff. To me, he was good for a single here and there, BUT since I don't/didn't own the albums, I never really commented. UNTIL, i read an article about him/Amerikkka's most wanted in this book called "And Ya Don't Stop." Per the article, Kids really seemed to be feeling him on that album? So, I copped it. And at this point, after one and 1/2 listens, I cant say I'm feeling it. Should I get more CUBE to appreciate him more? we have cube in the mix at: www.fatratradio.com; BUT, I'm wondering what we might be missing. Maybe it's the East/West thing, I don't know; BUT, I never really viewed Cube as an ICON. My personal Fave's are Ghetto Bird, Steady Mobbin & Jackin for Beats.

Agree or disagree?

Ice Cube's run from when NWA first formed to about the time the first westside connection album dropped (Yes I know a year over our breaking point) is one of the best in hip hop? Very few put out the kind of body of work over 8 years.

I agree.

Death Certificate is a great album also. CLASSIC. If you don't have that, you need to get it.

It's cool if you don't get into it. That may just be your personal taste. Also, if you are trying to listen to his music from a eastcoast mentality in 2007 it's not quite the same as being able to witness what he is talking about. Alot of what he talks about, while not exclusive to LA, makes more sense if you in fact know LA. He is however an ICON. That is undebatable. There is no doubt about that. From being the best in legendary group NWA to one of the best solo careers, not just from strickly a music standpoint but also from a sucess stand point. He was also one of the first rappers to really have alot of sucess acting...you know before it became the in thing to do. His role in Boyz In The Hood really gave credibility to MCs trying to do the acting thing. It was possible to be good at both.

Damn can't I get this bounced to The Spot? This **** is popular enough to be put there....
