Who the Hell is stretch my arms and the bob dude? Blah Blah Blah. I got an Ill cassette collection also WNYU 89.1 tape that joint religiously in the 90's as well up until like 2001. thats funny I think i got the artifacts freestyle on there as well over the nappy heads rmx....then it turns into Krs ones Mortal Thought or another song off the return of the boom bap album over the same Fugees beat. I also got videotapes of all videomusic box shows with Ralph McDaniels from like 85-2003 mad interviews from Juice Crew Allstars to rocksteady anniversary and everything in between

In the entire decade of the 90s I taped 89.9 every thursday faitfully from 1-5AM.I would put 1 hour cassettes an stay up until 3 in the morning tapeing then fall asleep tapeing the last hours......there is no great NYC mc that I dont have ripping it up before they blew up.When I went away to college I would have my little brother tape it for me.I have a collection second to none.Bobbito likes the wierd garbage spaced out MCs.the best shows was when it ws just stretch because he played banger after banger...you always knew stretch was gonna play some brand new sh1t from you fav artist that you never heard before.I would go to the rock steady anniversaries every year an all these white boys would have they tapes playing out they radio .thinking they had iller sh1t than me but I would always have a tape that no ne else had because I taped everything...even those wack as$ call up freestyle bobbito would let the callers do at the end of the show. When stretch got a show at hot 97 in 1996 I tape all his shows until 2001.
no one on this site has an iller tape collection of boogie an the barber 89.tek 9 than me.
plays classic artifacts freestyle over the fuggees nappy heads remix an laughs cause no one on sohh has ever even heard the freestyle.
ill buy all your tapes for a G

Thats a joke. LMAO!
Stretch actually said on Hot97, that my collection of his show, is better than his own. I still send dude shyt that hes missin from the show, those years. Ive hooked a lot of people on here up with shyt, from the show. I got everything on CD, every year, every single show, even the nights when the tables didnt work, and they just snapped on each other.
Get'cha weight up, nikkas.
Another great freestyle is when lord finesse and krs one were up there. Lord finesse brought his sampler and they were rhyming over a marvin gaye loop.

That was a hot one, but Finesse was up there another time, playin wild beats outta the SP. He actually played some of the shyt that ended up on The Awakening. He was freestylin for like 50 minutes, over mad of his beats. Thats like one of his best appearances on there, EVER!! That was fall '95.
Im already gettin requests from folk, and what to throw up on here. Im the KING of 89.9 from '91-'98, and Stretch will tell you that himself. The library is too thick! I'ma throw some shyt up, for the people. Show em how Hip Hop used to be, before they came. LOL!

Nah, that was about a year before they got the Hot97 gig. Big Daddy Kane was up there the same night. I got the MF Grimm with G Rap nights too, they were up there a few times together.

I must have missed that show. I remember one time when finesse was on the hot 97 show and he was freestyling over the beat that would later become the soulplan remix with roy ayers.

Nah, I cant pimp Stretch's show. That would be some crook shyt. I hooked like four people up with CD's for free, on here though. I just like to know that muhf*ckas heard the good shyt. 'Cause thats a part of the game that people forget about sometimes, or never even knew about.
Bob has a decent collection. But to my knowledge, he didnt tape people he didnt like. I didnt care back then, I have the wack shows too. I always figured there was a chance, I might like them later or some shyt.

i see a lotta cats in here popping off and bigging up their collections... but where's the love, at least i posted some joints.. I'll try to post a few more tommorrow, but i don't really have a lot of Stretch and Bob era treats (the few tapes i had, who knows where they are). This is already one of the best threads ever, but someone come through and bless up with a classic session or two.

Those tapes they had at Fat Beats didn't have any of the exclusives... so they were a waste of money, in my eyes. I understand why, but still, i bought one, and ended up regretting it.

I have a lil time, so I'ma try to throw some shyt up. Somebody requested this, its Souls Of Mischief's first time on the show. This is from late '92. I actually saw this on a mixtape last year, when I was out in Cali too. This is classic, though.

Excellent... this is one of the few joints i actually remember, as i was a big Souls of Mischief fan back in the day... every hip-hop head i knew was buzzing off some SOM. Nobody could believe that there were kids out in Oakland that got down pretty much like young cats out here. I remember they used to fukk with Kurious Jorge when they would come up to NYC.

Nah, this is the promo vinyl from Geffen, fam'.
I cant remember the tracklist from the CD offhand, but I dont know if its much different. I'll have to find it.
it should be differnt cuz the LP was done in 95, the bootleg promo which is bad quality n the songs aren't in the rite order u can hear them not follwin the rite order, those tracks were just cut n pasted together
the Nas joint was not on the LP cuz it recorded in late 96
Queens Lounge n Sunrise would be what to look for in the tracklist
its close to this rite here:
THE LP
1. Sunrise
2. That Bull****
3. Hungry
4. IJUSWANNACHILL
5. Funky To Listen To
6. The Mad Scientist
7. Queens Lounge
8. interlude
9. Hard!
10. THE LP (For My Peoples)
11 interlude
12. Dancing Girl
13. Listen ! Blast Off
14. Have Fun

Nah, the Nas joint dropped in early '96. The album was supposed to drop that spring. I got this record from the label, when I was still in high school, and deejayin. The quality is high grade. I even got the "Mad Scientist/Spacey" video with it. This is an official promo.
To my knowledge, the album was never mastered, so there's no definite tracklist, in regard to order. I see the same songs all the time, just in different orders. LOL!

Jack Tripper,
If you really do have a complete collection of those shows on CD (or whatever format you have), you could make them available without "pimping Stretch and Bobbito."
Just contact them and set something up with them...a website or something where you can have them in streaming format or for download. Maybe have a one time or yearly fee that gives access to all of them, sorted by date and with descriptions of the shows.
It would be a lot of work, but you could make some money off of it too. As long as Stretch and Bobbito are involved and getting cash from it, you aren't pimping them.
Yes, I'm living in a fantasy world and I know it would probably never happen though.
Aight, I'll throw it on, and check to see.
Listen BLast Off should go into Have Fun you can hear it at the end of Listen and the start of Have Fun, thats the 1st mistake
Funky 2 Listen 2 should go into Mad Scientist, u can tell at the end of Funky, the intro 4 Mad Scientist comes on, thats another error
Have Fun should go into For My People (LP), at the end of Have Fun u hear the intro to For My People, another error
IJusWannaChill should go into FUnky 2 Listen 2, u can hear that intro at the end of Wanna Chill, another error
so the rite sequence based of these corrections would be
Listen! BLast Off
Have Fun
For My PEople
IJusWannaChill
Funky 2 Listen 2
Mad Scientist
now this flows all into each other
1. Sunrise
2. That Bull****

Its not as easy as it may seem, to start somethin like that. I honestly dont even know if theyre as cool with each other, as they used to be. I just hook people, if theyre lookin for somethin in particular. The show had a huge followin, but not one huge enough, to venture in business for. At least, I dont think so. Stretch tried to release some CD's with shyt on them, they didnt do too well.

This version doesn't have any blend-in's. All of the tracks on the promo fade out normally. Like I said, there are a million versions of this release. Mine I got from the label, so Im cool with this one. I got this, and The Roots "Proceed" (Remixes) on vinyl, the same day from Geffen. So I'ma ride with this copy.
The CD, I would have to find, and actually listen to.
what u think of what u got? U liked it when u got it or big letdown?
U fck with Xtra P?
I heard when he got dropped from geffen he had a production deal with Loud
