see they knew peeps would drop off so they would either play someithng real exclusive then or they would just start dissing each other which was equally entertaining...i cant front there were nights that i would just hit record and set up the auto reverse but i aint do it too much cuz sometimes the tape recorder would wack out on me and not record! i be like "wut the fuuuuuuuuu.....???..or else for some reason the tape wouldnt flip over so i aint catch everything
I feel you... that shyt was a crisis when i woke up and realized that the tape didn't record properly.. not a fond memory.

Yeah a lot of nites 2:30 to 3 I was just hanging on for dear life trying to stay awake so I could change the tape and go to sleep. lol
Funny thing was that Nas was on WNYU last year the week of the Central Park concert and it was so wheird hearin him on da show, he was like that all the rappers back in the day listened to both shows but when they started played that space sht in like 96/97 all the rappers stopped listenin n comin up there, which is very true if u look back, it was a community that got separated
Who remembers 105.9 with Awesome 2, DNA, Hank, Half Pint, Pirate Radio with Marley Marl
Yo Galv u got those shows that Marley did with Tim Westwood it was like worldwide Pirate radio they had some ill shows, Pete Rock was there too.
Anybody know about that show n when it use to be on?

Mad in jokes I wasn't even getting and I posted there on the regular. I just left.
no offense to anybody, but on the real that type of shyt is a microcosm for what happened to the NY underground scene in general for a while... mad white boys came in and started trying to make hip hop some cultish type ish, and the black people that were left became more and more uncomfortable till they just eventually bounced..

I was uptown so used to fucc with my man Lamel (sp) and his Hardcore Righteousness show up at City College that came on every evening.. I was listening when dude called in for him to play "Protect Ya Neck" and he was like "Wu-Tang again???" (the skit on the first Wu album).

What about Kid Capri and then Premier for like a half hour between 730 and 8PM weedays on BLS. It would be banging but like damn, mad short. lol

Word!! DNA Hank Love radio show, Magestic Productions LOL... I have the Billy Jeans commercial on tape. Mad funny. Hank was terrible on the 12's though. Pete Rock and K Def rocking with Marley. I have the clip when Half Pint played On the real for the first time and Marley called up and Pint admitted snatching that tape out of Marley's car..........

Yeah Non Phixion, Cage and other white dudes who actually could really rock and weren't nerds inspired a bunch of wannabees who don't know what the fukk they are doing. They created a whole other indie scene that is just . . . gay. lol

"the mack daddy WHO? the mack daddy WHAT? the mackadocious style driving all the hoes wild!"..its was a demo that they always played and people started requesting it....ah the memories
This is a beautiful thread....makes me wish I can contribute.

yeah... it tooks me YEARS to find that joint on mp3. I remember they were all Black Isrealites (the dudes that stand outside at a shopping area and scream on *****z) and they had a whole LP out on Pallas Records
that's cool and all, but they sell the best of Stretch and Bobbito in stores man.....

Compared to what they liked individualy I always thought it was an unusual duo. Stretch signed Pretty Ugly to his label for awhile didn't he?

You just made my weekend, no lie!
You could go out and smack my mistress in the face with your testicles and I'd just shrug it off!!!!! I'd have to tell that broad "live with it baby, he hooked me with that Camp Lo remix.
ANY CD or song that I have, if you want it, it's yours! That's how significant this joint was to me!
3 Years on SOHH and THIS moment validates all of the time I've wasted here!!!!
THANK YOU!

Ya'll are really taking me back to my glory days in terms of the love I had for this hiphop sh1t back then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best hiphop thread on SOHH EVER for me personally.
I have tons of tapes from them. Is there any they can be converted to cd? One of the best moments is when they had big l up there and he brought jay-z before he even blew up. That freestyle they did over the milkbone beat is classic.

Yeah all you gotta do is connect a 1/8 output from the stereo to the input on the soundcard... then use a program to record it.
Matter of a fact, if you have a little extra cash to spare, you make the whole process extra easy... you can put a cassette drive on your computer
