Everybody likes to see NY loose but thats understandable. Im from Ny and i know how we get down most times, i try not to be like all the rest NYcers cuz it really profits me nothing to think im better than somebody else because of where im from, shyt NYc aint even that hot no more.......
Now when it comes to hiphop and that beef, the west served us but i wouldnt say they won, they exposed us thats all.......and everybody was backing the west because they dont like Ny because of the cocky attitude, i went to the Carribean sometime around that time when the beef was popping off and everybody was backing the westcoast even though they have mad fam in NYc, that says alot....

So I guess you can say Dre is on our dikk, right? Can't he find any artists in the west to make money for him? Game ain't gonna cut it. He knows where the talent is.

cool
but yo it's a whole lot to be said about the NY attitue, its disgusting, and its not only in hiphop.......when 9/11 happened there were people from other states who were happy that shyt happened.
The West was cool back then but i dont know what happened its fukked up...their scene was smaller than ours and alot of their rappers got trouble in the industry, plus they depended too much on that gangster shyt, when the gangster stuff got old when Puff came through, the west coast rappers had a hard time shining again. U see the eastcoast cats are smart, we freak styles over here, we bite everybody's shyt without any pride, whatever is hot we run with it quick.....its like what snoop is saying, the east took their gimmick and ran with it now the time for the gangster shyt pop off again...The west just need to get pass that ganster stigma. The south is cool though, they have alot of different styles if one goes out the light they have more....

Actually one rapper did call out the west, chino XL
NY didnt call anyone out on wax, they just shot them the fukk up everytime they came to their city (2pac gets robbed and shot, DPG gets their trailer shot up)

That's because Kurupt and Daz were on some Matrix shiit. Fuucking junior Neos and shiit.

Basically. They made diss tracks, we popped gats.
Plus when New York was in the west all from 1995-1996 and here about no one getting shot at until Biggie died in 1997.
I don't condone it, but them niiggaz got shot at, did NATHAN, and now are irrelevant in the music industry.
Yeah the East lost....
Get the fuuck outta here...

on wax the west coast MIGHT have won in SOME eyes just because of the fact that most NY rappers paid them no mind, while every west coast artist had napoleon syndrome towards NY
but in the streets
we KNOW who lost :ucku:

How did the West "expose us"?
Their savior is FROM FUUCKING NEw York. Got reckless, got shot the fuuck up....THRWICE! And raped in jail.
No one else was getting at any MCs really, aside from little subliminal shiit.
Y'all act like NY, NY is even really a diss track. They say nobody's name, none of verse even mentions new york either.
What major disses did these faggots have besides "Hit 'Em Up" which got the author where the worms and the weak be?

Snoop is a certifed ho now
2pac I like his music but he robbed on some crackead need money quick tip and killed in his supposed "hometown"
Ice Cube needed Public Enemy to make his first album came to NY record
Daz-So So def
Kurupt- Suge making money of him
Mac 10 chased through his home town by Jim Jones
E-40 who? exactly
Dub C was he singed to Def Jam ?
Suge lets see Diddy went on to make millions Suge is still extorting money from his old artist.
So just like Michagan the west is no where to be found
The new hope game- rides thew east coast and is the biggest NWA jockrider I have ever seen. Having tattos of eazy-e and all that.
Im not from NY or Cali so this is a neutral opinion. California won that little battle man. Ice Cube and the West Side Connection dissed the east on A WHOLE ENTIRE PLATINUM ALBUM. NOONE responded to them. Not ONE east coast rapper.None of them even CRITICIZED them in the media. As far as violence Pac got shot and someone shot at a trailer, but everyone has always heard about NY rappers getting robbed in Cali for years. "New York, New York", "Hit em Up", SEVERAL WestSide Connection songs won it for the west. Its all good though. Its good its over because it was bad for hiphop.

wheres the west been for 8 years? nowhere, Xzibit fell off, Snoop needs a Neptunes beat to stay afloat, the rest named either dissapeared or are wack as hell. its good the other regions are still concerned tho, cuz the only people that give a sh1t about the midwest is themselves.

More than half the east coast needs the Neptunes to stay afloat. The west has been putting out non commercial quality music the last 8 years. It's like 84-90 out here in the West. You can go back to jockin A&R controlled hip hop. I'd rather listen to an artist from any region who succeeds or fails on his/her own terms.

With the exception of Snoop no of the above listed are relivent, while the East coast cats who got dissed are still live and well
Nas - Dropped one of the best albums of the yr
Jay - Literally is gonna take over the industry
Moob Deep - Joint venture deal with jive
CNN - herbed em with La La Nore signed to the Roc with a top 10 single
AZ - Is going to go down in hip hop history as a respected lyricist E-40 is gonna be remembered as the dude nobody understands.
T-boz - Drove a self a hard core gangsta damn near to tears...Not gangsta
Suge - Welll I can't front that ***** gangst. But he's dissen all the westcoast starts so We win on that too.
And who does the Mid west really have. Em, okay if you like cartonnish rap gear toward teenie boppers, D12 see Em. Kayne is dope and Twista is hot cause of him. The West has Dre who put on Em, and Snoop. That's it. Maybe Xzibit. So the Midwest is in the same boat as the west. It's better that way. Let the East and South keep putting out that horrid watered down music that is parading as hip hop. Hopefully they will come to their senses like Nas and go back to making quality music. They are far too many talented artists out there making wack music. It all depends on what you like I guess. I don't like MUSIC INDUSTRY HIP HOP. A lot of people do.

How could the west ever claim to be as live as the east coast when they're always crying about how they get no respect on the east coast?
The west livest cats are either from NY(Pac), or rap like they're from NY(Game).
Your most famous mc(Snoop) went almost a whole decade w/o putting out a hit record.
Without Dr. Dre, the west coast rap scene is like South Dakotas rap scene.
Your so-called tough guy Suge Knight is a bytch. Look at all the bytch azz shyt he does, like hearing that Dre is about to drop Chronic 2000, so he hurries up and drops a wack Death Row album called Chronic 2000 to spite him. Thats some "I'm mad at you so I'm gonna do some annoying shyt" type mess. Thats gangsta???
Ice Cube hasn't been hot in years. And he needs to stop biting Cypress Hill.
WC? Mack 10? yeah right.
The west coast is still in the shadow of NYC. Get over it.

NY started this s@#t. But Al and Madlib use NY as a foundation and put their own twist to it. Just cause a cat ain't makin G-Funk doesn't mean he is biting NY. Get over yourself. I haven't heard Hell Razah , but Ace is doing the type of music a grown man should be doing. He doing s@#t his way. I'm from LA but my favorite sound is that gritty New York chop sample s@#t but I also love the way DJ Quik puts his music together. S@#t my favorite producer of all time is Pete Rock and Rakim is my favorite rapper while Hiero is my favorite crew. I just wished these talented kats would go back to making quality music. Is that too much to ask?
