This was a good thread imo haha.
EDITED Friday 2/23/2007
I eas looking for House/Freestyle. Those styles seem to be returning in urban music. Trance is still cool too. Anymore more House/Freestyle? Any hip Hop and R and B mixes/mash ups to dance music?
We have have to skip to page 2 and start all over if the links are dead already

Drum N Bass is the best genre of electronic music i think, plenty of suggestions for beginners...
Plug-Drum n Bass for Papa
Goldie-Timeless, Saturnz Return
u-ziq- Royal Astronomy
Photek-Modus Operandi
house has been broken down into numerous sub-genres, i like 2-step the most. Olav Basorski is a name to look for

the stuff that Thetheif'stheme suggested was pretty good.
gnelli & Nelson - Holding Onto Nothing
Mauro Picotto - Proximus
Oceanlab - Beautiful Together (Radio Edit)
mroe stuff like that, so i guess im looking mroe into maisntream style dance?
What about old school stuff from the 80's?
well if he is....he's a helluva stretch.
we are both talking about DJ Krush the Japanese cat right?
I dont see how it is anything but Hip Hop, his whole backround (Krush Posse etc) style is Hip Hop, maybe not contemporary Hip Hop as we know it but it is what it is. An Album like 'Meiso' is one of the nicest Hip Hop lp's ever imo.

there is no doubt whatsoever that Krush is hiphop, the suggestion he is anything otherwise is ludicrous
try getting some nu breaks stuff like Koma & Bones
Warp is also a quality label, you can buy nearly anything on it and be satisfied I find

kanekash: i think what youre looking for is trance music. (more on the cheesy side of things, if you liked those songs. but im not hating. lol) if you like those artists he named, check out cd's from dj tiesto, armin van buuren, ferry corsten, paul van dyk etc etc.
and for cats trying to get into house music, i would recommend mark farina, dj sneak, derrick carter, doc martin...
like dude said though, it all depends on what you want. there's so much out there, with so many dj's...

It was trance. I love that shyt. Don't find it cheesy at all.
Actually, initially, I was looking for house and Freestyle, like what was popular in the latin clubs in nYC back in the 80's.
that's goo shyt too.

Check out The Hacker - Reves Mecaniques. This shiit is hard as ****.
Generally though I don't really like dance albums, I prefer dj mix complilations. Some good ones are Slam's fabric & their Ekspozicija Vol.4: Stardome mix. This is just big, heavy house ish.
I've been getting into drum&bass lately as well...check out Andy C, J Matjik & High Contrast's fabric albums. High Contrast's mixmag live album is pretty good as well. This all total no holds barred d&b....seriously heavy stuff.
