i feel like magical mystery tour is better, despite the fact that everyone and there mother's considers Sgt. Pepper to be the greatest album ever made.

some of the singles off MMT are the greatest songs ever recorded, the only weak tracks are Flying and Blue Jay Way, and those are only weak when comparing them to other Beatles songs.

I love them both but I probably like MMT better. The Fool On The Hill is one of my fav songs ever.

Every Beatles album is pretty much perfect to me though.

even though both albums are evenly matched..the sequencing of Sgt Pep. his amazing and the flow of the album is better IMO

Sgt. Pepper's is winning the vote, but damn near everyone who is posting is saying MMT.


It's like this. MMT was basically just a compilation of various tracks and B-sides that The Beatles couldn't find an album for. So they just put them together, recorded a few new songs, and called it The Magical Mystery Tour.

Now, no question there are some classic tracks on MMT (Some of The Beatles best IMO), but, if looking at an album as an artform, meaning that the entire album is one piece of art, then Sgt. Pepper's is vastly superior.

Conclusion= A concise, direct effort (Sgt. Pepper's)>>>> a Compilation.

Yeah MMT did sound like a bunch of singles thrown together. SPLHCB is a better album and its not even close IMO. A better comparison would've been that versus the White album.

Pepper and honestly it's not even close, for reasons ghost9 already summed up quite accurately. Don't get me wrong, Pepper is the single most overrated album in history (even though I love it) and it isn't even my favorite Beatles album (Rubber Soul and Abbey Road fight for that belt regularly) but it is miles better than MMT.
