View Full Version : The Latin Music Appreciation Thread.
Since this subforums creation, I have seen about 1 thread about latin music(it was about a reggaeton artist). Its like no one on this whole site listens to any typ of latin music. I'm not just talkin about hip hop, I'm talkin about salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, pop, rock, bomba/plena, bolero , cumbia & every other type of latin music. So this thread is dedicated to the appreciation of all forms of latin music. Drop any comments on the music(whichever type it may be), fav. songs, recommend songs, any type of discussion related to the topic.
Example:
My all time favorite latin music is salsa. Especially the late 60's & 70's era of salsa. So much good sh*t came out of that time period, it was incredible. Artists like: Hector Lavoe, Willie Colon, El Gran Combo, Ruben Blades, Oscar D'Leon, etc. It was among the greatest eras of latin music history.
Drop Some Feedback.

That's my sh*t right there. Aguzate, Cabo E are my favorite joints from them.
Juan Luis Guerra is a top artist right now IMO in terms of talent. I made my own greatest hits cd. Burbujas De Amor is my fav. track by him followed by Frio Frio & Bachata Rosa.

Hector Lavoe & Willie Colon = My alltime favorite salsa acts. They got so much classic sh*t & were the best of their era or any era IMO & that's that they were competing against excellent salsa acts.
I can't believe so few people listen to latin music on this board.

Just checked some of my dad's vinyl.
He has:
Oscar D'Leon - ...Llego...Actuo...Y...Triunfo, El Mas Grande
El Gran Combo - Breaking the Ice, Innovations, and one where I don't even see a name on it but it says it's from 1975 and it has all of the players' faces on the cover playing instruments...might be just self titled cause I see the words EGC and that's it.
Willie Colon - Solo
Willie Colon/Hector Lavoe - Deja Vu
Willie Colon/Ismael Miranda - Doble Energia
Richie Rey and Bobby Cruz - De Nuevo Los Durisimos Again, Lo Mejor De (Best of)
Danny Rivera - Sereneta
Bunch of other sh1t (Ismael Rivera, Willie Rosario, etc.) but I figured I'd just list some. I can't wait to get a turntable to spin these.
Peace
