Start by changing your foot wear from sneakers to casual shoes. Some Dr. Martens are a good example of a casual shoe.

These are cool because you can rock them with jeans and your standard gear but it adds a few years of maturity to your swag. In terms of a casual look you cant go wrong with loose fitting jeans and a multitude of solid color Ralph Lauren tops. Off white, white, black, browns, navy blues, etc. Find the sleeves that kinda go near your elbow because a lot of their tops are made for f@gg1ts with the whole upper arm turnicate swag that these b1tches like to wear. But if you like that... do you.

For a sophisticated look when you need to take out some ol high fashion b1tch, theres nothing wrong with some dark grey/black/brownish/off white dress pants with an untucked dress shirt (white tee or wifebeater underneath optional). Not to long of a shirt and not to tight because you dont want to look like the homosexual. Its a working class dress swag. I usually roll the sleeves up right under my elbow so cats people understand im sophisticated but i might have a knife on me. As far as brands and personal style its up to you but im personally into solid colors (burgundy, blues, whites, black browns *dark color shirts with lighter dress pants obviously) and thin pin stripes dress shirts.
Wont hurt to invest in 2 pairs of dress shoes at some point. Black and brown pair. Thats a good start. Not like you gotta do the sophisticated look to go to the grocery store but its good to have options because as a man you should have gear for every setting.

Props, dude.

Since it's Fall (& this may seem corny) hit up Brookes Brothers & try on some corduroys. Don't even have to buy anything, just try to get a feel for a new fit; what you like & don't like... keep in mind you are looking to expand yourself a bit, though.

I always felt like when i started 'maturing' or whatever corduroys were always the easiest fabric to help me slowly shift thinking. It's heavy like most fall/winter denim & it's easy to wear... much like denim.

You should take some time every saturday or once every other week to checking new sh*t out. Invest some time in yourself; trying on clothes at [different] stores. You may get a lot out of it. I did for sure.

sweater vests, long sleeve button-ups and the occasional tie

casual shoes, nicer jeans that are less baggy (slim fit, not skin tight)

and then integrate stuff from your old wardrobe but improved

for example, clean nikes or thermals
