I almost got a hold of one. This one kat was selling one and got cold feet. Man, I want one of these. They're already labeling these cars as classics.

One of my girls had one down in Miami, she had it all done up, fast as fukk too. That yellow one in the 2nd link is slick with the Ferrari style wheels.

Always had a thing for these cars. Cheap, RWD, can be made fast. It's a win/win.

Only the non-turbo ones. And they're still somewhat pricey compared to other cars of their year.
Still, I want one. Turbo or non-turbo. Would be a dope little car to run around town with. But these asian kats will try gank you.

Depends on how much they added to them. Turbos normally float around the 10 G mark. Non turbos probably hit the 5-7 G mark. Keep in mind these are 91-95 cars.

Most of them out here are fully restored with imported engines and trannies (No Yauze). That's why they're so pricey.

Buy a non-turbo MR2 and swap in a JDM 3SGTE.

No pics. He lives near me so I gotta check it out.
He said it needs a fender, bumper, and hood. I'm waiting on my bro so I can check it out.
Good thing the engines are in the back.

I'm about to go check it out but I'm a little reluctant at this time. It has 179,000 miles on it and i really don't know how much life it still has.
I'm already working on my baby so having 2 cars to work on might be a little too much on me.
We'll see....

MR2's are a pain in the ass to work on. Especially the turbo. I broke my e brake wire 2 times.
They're also pretty hard to drive. If you drive it fast like you would a normal car you're going to die. I've spun out countless times. I even flew off the freeway one time.

It's a non turbo, 5 speed. And the dude that's selling it lives in Alhambra.
Give me a little insight on these cars. I don't race and I don't drive like a maniac.

those cars are still worth about $3000
how much will it cost to fix it? less than $1800 I assume and you can upgrade it with aftermarket parts and make it look better

the parts (Hood and Fender) will probably cost me 200-300 bucks total. Maybe cheaper. With that, I'll probably primer it and save for a paint job if it all goes down.
I'm gonna take a look at it tomorrow morning. I haven't seen it in person but dude told me it runs great. Tags up to date, already smogged, A/C etc.
We'll see.

ehhh, the car is little sketchy. It runs well, A/C works, got a major tune up but something is wrong with the power steering (common with MR2s) and I don't have enough dough to check the compression on the engine considering the mileage is at 170,XXX.
I told dude I'll think long and hard about it. Not sure if I want to take on another project car.

If it runs well compression must be decent..a 4 cylinder with bad compression would run very poorly
the damage seems cosmetic from the pics i would be very surprised if the frame is damaged at all.
you should check out the front end wiring ,radiator for hidden damage..one of the power steering fluid lines may be kinked or cracked or the power steering pump is damaged or leaking
overall it dont seem to be too high of a risk IMO

Reading the mr2 forums have told me that the most common power steering issue is the relay.
I've been doing a lot of research on this and I'm still thinking about it. I'm almost certain I can get it for about 1100 or 1150.

Well, looks like I'm gonna wait until the weekend to make my decision. Another kat around the way is selling the same exact model but with minimal body damage and a new motor for 1500. And the power steering works.

yeah.... those had a electric power steering pump....i have never worked on them but i wouldnt be put off by a relay issue...whats the worst that could happen...you have to order it from a toyota dealer for $50-100..not too bad.

the power steering problem ain't an issue. It was never an issue for me. The engine doesn't sit on the front wheels. The car has a 47/53 F/R weight ratio. Maybe that's why.

I passed on it. I found some other kat selling one in better condition. Gonna peep it when it cools down a bit.

N!gga I used to go the street races in BK
I fell in love with the 2nd gen MR2 when I saw one launch
SHYT
Little car hopped up on its back wheels and took off... AWFFFFFFF, no fukkin wheelspin whatsoever.
Plus in Gran Turismo they can take on GTRs or w/e with 100 more HP just off the handling.
SHARP cars, for sure, but I couldnt enjoy a car like that here. One of the last remnants of Toyota when it has an ounce of passion.,
