ferragamo makes plenty of loafers you can wear w jeans. barneys and saks just had sales last month and their ferragamos were on a huge discount. keep your eye out for those sales, you can catch some good deals. also check out tods, they make nice casual loafers. sometimes it's better to spend up for shoes, they'll end up lasting a helluva lot longer than cheap pairs.

as far as shirts, i still say you can't beat anything custom-made. everyone always assumes they're mad expsensive but they usually are cheaper than brand name shirts and fit a lot better. i have a couple places i order from, some as cheap as $40 a shirt, some as expensive as $250 a shirt. depends what you're looking for.

You going to name drop a tailor or two, or keep them close to the vest? I havent purchased any MTM clothes because I havent done the research on standard pricing and I dont want to get taken to the cleaners at Brooks or Pink (the spots everyone talks about.) Now I know that prices are based upon choices in fabric, buttons, etc., but it isnt smart to spend $275+ not knowing what else is out there.

my go to middle of the road place is King's on Water St. downtown NYC. i have cheap ones in HK that i order from and more expensive ones like Rowma in NJ and a guy my dad uses in LI. but i only use the latter 2 guys for special shirts because they're 250+.
