Was just listening to "U oughta know" and "new york state of mind", the rap versions and went and listened to the originals, not the first time Ive heard them or anything but I just felt like hearing them again.

Also Big Shot is good imo (also sampled by Budden).

I mean Im not as crazy about his doo wop type records, although they arent bad, but more of his rock records like big shot, movin out, etc. Not so much a fan of his newer stuff but his early work was good. But overall I like his music.

Thoughts on his career ?

rightly deserve their places in the rock n' roll canon. Billy Joel is a beast. He can write waltz, rock, folk, pop, and make any one of them sound good. The only comparable artist who rivals him in terms of versatility is Tom Waits.

True his catalougue is very versatile. Actually I do like all of his music but just certain songs more then others. And yeah the 2 songs you mentioned are dope.
