View Full Version : Post HIIT shake.... dextrose? (or carbs in general)

Does anybody do this?

I just copped some dextrose as something extra for my PWO shakes after lifting.
Insulin spike, that whole thing.

Now I'm wondering if I should be taking it after an HIIT session, seeing as how the way energy is burned kinda says not to. (exhausts glucose levels, burns fat over a 24hr period thereafter, but if I ingest dextrose immediately after would that counteract the process?)

Some sources say it doesn't matter.

Some sources say wait an hour.

Anybody got an idea?

I take dextrose right after I get back from the gym. I would say go for it. Limit all your simple carb intake except for right after your workout.
