View Full Version : Any of you guys ever tried the 10 Sets of 10 reps Method?

my gains seem to be slowin a little so i'm thinkin about switchin up my routine. I was just wondering if yall have ever done the 10 by 10 method. also known as GVT(German Voume Training).
basically you pick one exercise per muscle group. say bench press for chest and barbell curl for biceps. then you pick a weight that you could lift about 20 times. then you do 10 sets of 10 reps at 1 minute intervals.
the shyt seems pretty intense. I think i'm bout to start it up this coming week. but if any of you guys have ever done it drop some thoughts.

I used to do the 10x10 on the flat bench with 225. Thats gave me a lot of bulk that I didnt really expect and didnt want. I mean from my personal opinion, it worked for me.

yea i started it today on shoulders. got a real good pump. gonna keep this going for a couple months

I do that with bench presses actually. I've got a special count for it. First 10 reps I rest for 10 seconds, then do another set and add 10 more seconds as I go. I might reverse it soon for a better workout, or at least do it with my pushups when i'm not doing the card game.

Remember dont go too heavy on shoulders when doing 10x10. If your shoulders fukk up, your workout regiment is over then it's say hello to abs and legs only.

Make sure you eat enough, some people say they feel overtrained if they dont get enough food and sleep.

That 10x10 kicked my ass yesterday. I just started using a Muscle Igniter along with the Creatine i'm using.

had to go back to my old routine for chest. i wasn't gettin enough sleep to handle this shyt...i actually declined in my bench since starting this. it's wack...if i don't get 8 hours of sleep it's impossible for me to get a good workout. i'ma start it up again when i aint as busy.

yeh i got three kinds of routine, one for every week. One of the weeks is where i do ten sets of ten, and it works pretty well for me

Sleepin and eatin are the hardest parts of working out to me. I got like 5 hrs of sleep last night and I'm supposed to go up in weights on everything today
