dont do it guys please save yourselves a headache, I have never owned one personally my friend has been through 4 9-5 areo's, 1 9-3 and each one is worse then the last interior bits breaking, trim falling off inside and out, lcd screen fading, elctronical gremlins, transmission went in one auto, it was really endless

if you want a good cheap entry level euro get a s60 volvo model awd, t5, r they can all be had for cheap or around the same price as a 9-3 8- 14k range. unless your talking new in which case you should get your head examined

I have never any problems with my s60 bought it in 2002 its almost 10' and it runs great never any problems with the transmission, engine, electrical. Usual wear and tear suspension, wheel bearings thats about it.

Another ok option is audi's long as you stick to the right models. If you want to know ask but my rant on junk is done for today.

they can all be had for the same price with less headaches you just have to keep up on maintence and they are carefree my audi's and bimmers never had problems :yayo:

ya in the car mags, they usually say audi's arent that dependable......i like how the saabs look way more than a volvo, but in the long run the volvo would probably be more reliable......

Dont cop it I own a 2003 saab 9-3 when I first got it no lie within 4 months my transmission went out. I called saab usa to see if I was still under warranty mine you at that time it only had 46000 miles on it, they told me no since i was the 2nd owner so I had to cough up $4000 to get fixed. got it fixed ran smooth for months then my driver door power lock stop working took it to dealer they told me it will cost me around $500 to get fix. till this day it's not fixed so I need to lock and unlock the driver door manually through the driver side back door. The beginning of the year I notice I was leaking antifreeze fluid so again I took in back to the dealer to see where was the leak coming from unfortunately it was the water pump it went bad had to fix that sh1t too cough up $900 to get that fix. Now the check engine light came on the the dash is beginning to fade. this car it's a nightmare!! looks nice but that's about it. I will not recommend this to no one.

SAAB fell off when they got devoured by GM.

Shame, my first car was a SAAB 96 (http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/5231/saab96mc850small.jpg)
