When I first started writing rhymes I never used a beat. I still have difficulty specifically writing to a beat some times. I usually just match my voice to the beat afterwards. This don't always work though.
What I'm tryna ask is "How easy is it for ya'll to tailor a beat to someone's rhymes?"
Like if I walk up to you and tell you: "Yo, I got all 3 verses and the hook ready!"
Would ya'll be able to tailor a beat to that, or is it difficult?

if you rap to a certain bpm then you can do it
like just have a hi hat play at a certain bpm then rap over it

Damn, my man. I know that on this forum people know what you talking about, but I really don't. I just write rhymes, and if that ish sound like it flow, then it flow. I just wanna know if I walk up to a producer and say: "this is my song, this is the hook, and I want a dance beat", then if that'll make the producers job harder, easier, or it doesn't have so much effect on what the beatmaker comes up with?

imo, its better to write to a beat instead of having someone build a track off your acapella, if that's what you're getting at. it could be done, no doubt...but to me it just makes more sense to get the 'vibe' from the music rather than the rap part.

I understand completely, but I've just had so many moments when inspiration strikes and I'm nowhere near a beat. I'm not a producer at all, so I was just asking ya'll how ya'll would deal with the situation if someone came at you like I just did. But, you right...it's preferable I get in the room with the beat and just let the skill flow.
