How do you expect fans not to care when artists constantly bring them up?

Lol that's the way to determine how relevant you are.

i dont mind us discussing the success or failures of albums. i dont like when we made it all about first week sales cause that microwaves the value of a project and puts people in the mindstate that if you didnt pop in seven days that means your project is weak and then its on to the next week with the same microwave mentality.
like really what did all eyes on me or ready to die sell the first week?? what did makavelli or it was written sell the first week?? nobody can tell you off top(unless you google it) but they are all albums that sold millions and are considered classics. but not because of the buzz it created for one week but because labels and the artists made it a point to work the project for the whole year cause at the end of the day what goes to the press is what the album sold for the whole fiscal year. so artists toured and worked on the numbers for they projects for the whole year. 6 months in artists were still on arsenio hall telling people to go grab the album. now you get a good couple weeks in promo then you dont hear from the artists no more cause if the album didnt move a ton of units first week the label shuts the project down and wont give no more money for promo.
thats my issue...

Someone link that video of Ghost practically begging his fans to pick up his record cause he put a lot into it and didn't wanna flop

True. If u have true and loyal fans, they won't mind spending $10-15 on a cd
I'm a real fan of rap music so I do buy artists that i fukk wit cd
1.Rick Ross
2.Wayne
3.Boosie
and a few others.....yeah i download too. But my favorite artists i go to the store....
I mean rappers put out mixed cd's that we get to enjoy for free so when they trying to get paid why not buy it?
Do u work for free? So why expect others too

That was one of the greatest rapper youtubes of all times...lol, he was mad that he had more friends on myspace than copies of his album were sold the first week...he seemed legitimately pissed off that not all of his myspace friends bought his album...

:laugh: shame at ghost thinking that his myspace friends......were really his friends.....:laugh::smh:
if you bank you success as an artist on record sales alone then you need to step your game up.

most people dont... but
if your favorite artist record doesn't sell then he could get dropped from his label and then he would not make as much money as he should/would.
im cool with a mixtape now and then but i labels don't care about that. they care about sales.
e.g. ghostface
