It's been a really great year--it's going to be much tougher putting together a list than it has been the past few years.

Hmm, I really have not listened to anything that came out in 2009 that wasn't hip-hop. I think I listened to the new Propaghandi, and that's it. I'm defintly not down with the hipster/college/navel gazing/pretentious stuff that some of ya'll are advocating in this thread though, but I can't offer anything better, because I haven't noticed anything better....
That's all Alt forum is.

Im wondering where all the Metal/Hard Rock threads are at. Or like mainstream rock besides Incubus and Linin Park.

Papa roach still making good music, Nickelback are hot or miss.

I still haven't heard that LOG album yet, was that 2009?

Killswitch gotta be good though.

Not trying to diss or nothin', but you gotta be under 20 yrs old.. I mean, you claim to like a Jonas Bros. song, you think Papa Roach makes "good" music, and you used Nickelback and hot in the same sentence.. Really man, 'sup with all that faccot shiit nicca?.. Like I said, not tryin' to diss or anything like that but your age range would definitely explain a lot... 1

This sh*t always baffles me.

Good music is good music. Point me in the direction of an album that came out in 2009 that's dope... & i'll hear it & throw it on my list w/the quickness if it's good.

I stay up very late at night looking for sh*t.

Not trying to duiss, but it's about liking good music and not caring how the artist looks or how bad ONE single may sound. Every musician I know respects Papa Roach. Them nyggas make good songs. Good song writing. classic riffs. If you've ever heard anything besides their singles, you'll know that they consistently put out 4/5 mic albums. Plus their singles are some of their best work.

That Jonas brothers song is sick! What because I'm an adult male I can't like good music? It's not like i bought their album, or have their posters on my wall. It's a hot song. they performed it on tv with Stevie Wonder.

And Nickelback is old people's music. What are you talking about me showing my age? They like hard rock for people in their 40's. Their Roadrunner debut had some good guitar work and great song writng. strong lyrics too. i BOUGHT their last album, DDark horse, and i hate it. Only two good songs.
And who can make songs this well written

LMAO @ this.. First sign I obviously can't take you seriously.. And last time I checked I was pretty sure not one member of Papa Roach could be classified as a "nygga"...
It's a hot song. they performed it on tv with Stevie Wonder.
OMG!.. I didn't know that!.. How fukking awesome!.. The Jonas Bros. and Stevie Wonder, on the same stage, performing the same song together!.. You most likely came in your pants after witnessing that performance, did your mommy have to change your diapers afterwards?...

'Nuff said right there..

Lol, I wouldn't say that, considering what you got listed in your sig.. Mudvayne?.. Shadows Fall?.. Killswitch Engage?.. GTFOH with that faccit emo wannabe metal bullshiit.. That shiit is for fukkin' fairies, b.. That's "metal" for guys that like running around in meadows holding each others' hands and singing along to their favorite songs like "This is.. My Last.. SERENAAAAADE".. Fukk outta here with that.. You think that shiit is harder than my whole collection?.. Really?.. Unless you got some Genghis Tron, some Opeth, some Lamb of God, some Meshuggah, some Botch, some Wolves in the Throne Room, some Gojira, some Isis, some Godflesh, some muthafukkin' Fear Factory, etc. etc. in your "collection" I wouldn't open my fukkin' mouth.. You probably have never even heard of these bands and I wouldn't recommend someone in your age bracket listen to any of that shiit either, you'd probably piss your pants in fright.. 1

This year has been pretty boring to me. Top 5 of the half year so far;

1. Animal Collective
2. Grizzly Bear
3. Dan Deacon
4. St. Vincent
5. MF Doom

I still need to hear Wilco, SFA, Sunset Rundown, PJ Harvey etc but not much has moved me outside of the top two.

Made a thread in the Alt forums, check it out!

And clem, i disagree with you, im very upset with how 2009 is turning out. I lsiten msotly to Metal/Hard rock and hip hop. and i'm just bored with it all so far.

Even the really big oones I was looking forward to like Lamb of god and killswitche engage Darkest Hour im sort of like, "meh". I looking for some good melodies, fast circle pit type parts and less of that typicall open note breakdown parts. I only heard Lamb of god once though, gotta give it another listen.

Papa roach is sort of wack, i haven't heard the emmure or Marilyn Mansion yet.

I iwsh Parkway drive had a new one coming out.

It's gonna take me another good month to come up with a top ten list. First of all, two of the most anticipated albums, Darkest hour and killswitch Engage are just ok for now. I need to liten to them more. The Devil Wears Prada is ok, but again, what's the replay value? I've tried War from a Harlots Mouth , Texas in July, and Emergent Sea for the first time. Mot really feeling those, except I like Texas in July, very melodic, but heavy too.

I still haven't given uop on hard Rock/Metal though for this year. I need to hear the new Marilyn Mansion, Goatwhore, and Dream Theatre. as i mentioned before, the new Pap roach is a let down.

I just downlaoded some softer stuff, liek Alternative Rock Mainstream Rock that might be good. this band called Papercut Massacre. i skimmed through it it sounded aight. I also got some stuff you guys might be into like Dredg, The Cab, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Silversun Pickups. the cab is a weird mix of popish R and b and some electronica/Indie. Same with And then There Were None sort of electronic rock. I'm branching out a little bit here because I write and perform msic myself, but i haven't pciked up the bass in like 5 weeks. I have no motivation, no insiration, and just loss my passion for music.

Raps been disapointing to Camron's joint, Rick Ross' joint, Mims' joint. Busta's joint.

Also gotta check out that new Bury Your Dead, Corpus Christi, and Impending Doom.

Dan Auerbach - Keep It Hid

Don't really listen to much new shiit, but as far as albums released this year this has gotten the most spins from me.. This record is really incredible, hopefully we get another solo project from him sometime in the near future...

I live in San Francisco. I don't know of any divebar's where the patrons don't play Queen, Motorhead, and some other shiit for hours at a time. They never put new shiit--in those things. Last.fm is pretty much useless for finding new music.
