it's funny because i never could have seen this coming nor could you ever told me this five years ago. a complete and total wack ass rapper who protrays to be everything he's not is winning and still gaining attention and promo with his music meanwhile both Em and 50 are struggling to even gain a peak at their new music. and yes, in the "real world" outside of the net, NO ONE is talking about 50 or even Em (anymore) execpt for Bill O'reliey when it comes to mentioning a politician or only when Rick Ross says something about them. lol

both Em and 50 are shells of their former selves and are everything that they once hated and vented about on record. smh

ps* not even a Dr. Dre beat can save these disposable ass Saved By The Bell cats.

I'd say this is the biggest reason. The truth of the matter is...is that an overwhelming majority of rappers lie in their rhymes. Alot of em don't live the sh1t they rap about. Perhaps they were around the sh1t and know people who have...but they didn't. Hip-hop purists may have hang ups with all of that....but the general public really doesn't care. Same reason why you have people that will still eat Wayne's music up even though he's a well know shameless false flagging f@ggot. As long as the music entertains; people will go for it. I honestly don't care if Ross if a fake or not...his CD is still flames to me regardless, and that's all that matters. I really don't care about a rapper's personal life.

Ems not relevant? really? I think ems one of the most talked about artists and when his album drops and does 500k or maybe 450k no lower, it will show he still has a stable fan base. Nicca how do you know hes not talked about. People in your neighborhood. Well I know a lot of people that are hyped for new em. You know they are irrelevant when their albums dont sell. Sell like 100k. or less. SO yea your just talking from your block. Your area isnt the only city in the US

Em didn't need Ross to be relevant again. 50 on the other hand, may need another 9 bullets to be relevant again.

Eminem is irrelevant now. when that new video of his, what's it called "Rock Star" We Made You" was released a few weeks ago I seen it one day on MTV like every hour and then after that one day NOT AT ALL. Granted here recently I've been without stable internet access and I only have basic cable but this also just goes to show you just how much things have changed within the last few years. Years ago, a "new" Eminem video would have been getting airplay all over video stations but I seen the video that ONE DAY and then not at all anymore. Years ago Eminem could have dropped that wack ass song and video like he recently has and have a slew of people going crazy and talking about it "IN THE REAL WORLD", but now..... *crickets* No one cares outside of his core fanbase he still has and the posters on some Hip Hop boards like this one who flock to almost anything new even if it is sh!t.

How do I know he's not talked about (like he once was). Because he's not. Outside out of catching the attention of Bill O'reliey and his video being "hot" on MTV for a day I ain't heard a soul mention Eminem outside of the internet. and it's because times have changed and a lot of people (masses) who were once interested in him and his music have moved on, again aside from his core fanbase and along with his online followers.

Another thing, I realized Eminem was irrelevant a few years ago when he tried to comeback and release that compilation album with all of his and Aftermath artist and it tanked. Sure it might've sold a mil but it did NOTHING like Aftermath probably hoped it would. Like I said, a few years before that ANYTHING would the name "Eminem", "Slim Shady" or "Marshall Mathers" would have sold like hot cakes but it didn't do what he probably would have expected it too. Em has had his time to shine and he's run his course. Game over.

some of ya'll been online so long that ya'll don't even know who's relevant and ain't no more. well i got news for you, Em AND 50 are irrelevang and have been for quite a few years now. it just is what it is.

Wasn't that Re-Up album originally a mixtape?

As far as this thread goes, I wouldn't go as far as to say that they are completely irrelevant because I think that both of their releases will easily go gold or platinum, but their dominant run is clearly over.

They'll still be around though, just not as big as they once were.

i like how n1ggas think that the people "on the internet" are in the minority in this country , just because people don't walk around talking loudly about what they do while sitting on a computer, don't mean they don't know, or don't care about it

i think you n1ggas should check the dictionary when you use words, cuz i see the word "irrelevant" used in the wrong context a lot here

50 went plat and some change, in the us alone, let alone world wide in 2008, i don't think last year qualifies as "quite a few years"

and the re-up, went plat, a glorified mixtape like two years ago, wtf are you talking about? what is exactly your definition of irrelevant homeboy?

I didn't even see the word irrelevant even used that much until 50 said it during one of his interviews but maybe that's just me.

50 nor Em have an album that was just released. SMH @ rappers needing to release album after album without breaks or its considered an L. Ross just released an album so of course hes got more attention and promo.

50 been trying to release his upcoming album since the 4th of Febuary of 2008 and keeps getting pushed back because of the lack of buzz and attention he has NOT been able to create for his album. both of the singles he dropped for his upcoming album have dropped and flopped (one being a Dr. Dre produced track). 50 slick too, because after failing and not being able to build enough attention around his own name (and the beefs with him have become so played and contrived) he hides back behind Em and is NOW waiting to release his album AFTER Eminem in hopes of riding his coatails so that he can be sure to sell a bit more than he would have dropping before Eminem. hell, he even jacked Eminem's "crack a bottle" single and made it his own (which hasn't even received a video) simply because it was one of the most downloaded songs on itunes and neither of his (50's) wasn't.

as for Eminem, i've yet to even hear his new single get any play on the radio meanwhile the new white boy in town has been getting of play left and right. (yes, i still listen to the radio from time to time for many different reasons) like i said in an earlier post, years ago people ALL OVER would have been ranting and raving about a new Eminem album left and right a few years ago and now the only place i hear people talk about his ass (minus on Fox news) is online. his glory days are behind him, as well as 50.

i don't know why some of ya'll can't just swallow your pride and admit that things have changed and in no way are 50 and Eminem receiving the same amount of love and attention as they once did. i mean, that's just the way it goes. everyone has their time to shine just as well as everyone has their time to fade off into darkness and just because a memory; good or bad.
