Money aint a thing! ***** thats a LIE! It only controls every ***** thats alive!
if that was a line by Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie/Pac (if they were alive), Rakim, etc you people would be saying thats one of the best lines of all time, you'd be writing it in marker on your school binders or some shiit
but because its an artist that has been spitting heat since his debut CD that people didnt give a chance because he is from the south, but now is in a publicized beef with a New York rapper and this is mostly a New York website after all, yall cant say its a good line? People going as far to say "Ross has no quotables". Really ? You ride for someone you dont even know so much that youll hate on some real great music ? Really ?
This cant be life..

that shyt ain't special....
I was a young lad of 17
My life had yet to show its ugly face
Only a pretty façade, hey god it's me
Remember 3 - thousand,
The one who used to pray to be a rapper
My child's in the third grade
His favorite rapper wasnt rapping till he heard me
I wasnt rapping till I heard something called Erik B.
And Rakim's Paid in Full
Rappers really getting paid in full,
So full that the kid's dont go to school in hopes of becoming one of us
The only requirement is your bus
Now college is looking slim
Product is hooking them
Before their brains fully develop they get enveloped by the the vision teller
The television tells them their vision
Now it's hard for them to make decisions with out feeling
Uncooled, unschooled, thumb rule
Rule of thumb, can't be dumb
I wish I would've studied abroad
While I studied a broad and she studied me back
And my course was hard
That was that, this is this, listen up
Cause all them sayings is
If 30's the new 20
30's the new 20 for them wheels as well
They looking for the mic or some pills to sell
While the girls are steady graduating
*****'s standing on the corner hating, debating
Well should I get the new J's or the Kobe's
And they rollin so they wide awake for four days
Ha, I'm a G-entleman, let's get re-aquainted
I am Andre Benjamin3 stacks>>>your favorite rapper

But Ross ain't rich....... So how can you buy into what he says? I'm impartial to him, I listen to his music, and I enjoy it, but I don't take it any farther than that. I consider his music to be almost entirely quotable in the way I would see Menace II Society being quotable. I know when the movie goes off I only quote it in the context of the movie, or other special situations....i.e. Who got some snaps on the petro? OR Stop lying, alright? Besides, I had the jimmy on extra tight.
But when it comes to hip hop, the very least I look for in a quotable is something I can relate to, or something I feel the artist is truly passionate about. That's probably why I feel most mainstream artists are passin me by, because I don't buy into his hype. I'm only singling out Ross, because this thread is about him. But realistically, I can't connect and consider his music to be real because he doesn't seem authentic to me, and that's with or without the C.O. thing, because I know 2 people who worked in Indiana's Supermax, and they're both real grimey street dudes. As a matter of fact, if you wanna see grimey CO's, look up Cook County Jail and the shyt that's gone on at that place....... Anyway I've gotten off subject, I don't hate him, but I definitely can't consider him a quotable artist.

NYC has a history of being bitter ass haters, and it brings me joy seeing how irrelevant that s*** hole has become.

lmao, really? for one, since when is this "mostly a new york site"? n1gga the ratio of new york n1ggas vs. everybody else in the country and WORLD seeing how a lot of these cats are outside of the states, don't really add up, sounds like some more dumb sh1t coming off your fingers
if jay said that line, one of two things would have happened
1. nobody woulda said sh1t about it
2. there woulda been a thread dedicated to how bad he's fallen off
rick ross says it, and the fact that people don't acknowledge it as brilliant, is due to this being a "mostly new york" board, THE FUCCK OUTTA HERE
that line is "classic"? what is exactly so clever about that line my dude? seriously? please help a n1gga understand, what about that screams jay-z caliber?
