we can't wear what we want anymore because we'll be stripped down by these bouncers//security personal. I dont understand the No sneaker or collar shirt rule because there is a difference between a club and a lounge. A club is geared towards the younger crowd. I understand the No baggy jeans rule,fine....no hoody, fine!! no white-t fine....but no shades ((some clubs has those annoying ass flashing lights)) no scarf ((regular ones)) no fitteds etc are just nitpicking. I know they are trying to filter the lames out but damn i feel nekkid sometimes when i finally get inside b/c i had to take off all of my accessories.

u answered ur question. wearing shades indoors = lame.
u answered ur question. wearing shades indoors = lame.
basically
most of the time bouncers use the "dress code" as an excuse to bar entry to somebody they don't wanna let in.

I'm gonna agree here. The thing I think that's wack is a lot of nightclubs want everyone to practically dress the same.
It's come to a point that some people wear what they wear to work at a nightclub + a fedora hat. It's retarded that that's classified as "grown and sexy." That shyt has zero swag.
It might change this Spring tho. Last Spring you were allowed to rock fitteds at the nightclubs here in Hollywood. I believe places are allowing it once again.

I was the VIP host and the doorman for an upscale joint for three years
trust me, as much as it can be a pain in the ass, because they do sometimes get ridiculous with the things they single out. ..
Just from frisking cats at the door and choppin it up. . i've found guns, knives, chinese throwing stars, full bags of weed that I later gave to co-workers, tazers, people coming through with stolen credit cards, police batons, etc. .. if there was no dress code and people were allowed to walk in in any and everything, theres no telling what could get hidden and not only that but what could get used on YOU if something pops off.
the dress code benefits more than it hurts. yeah there is a bit of 'cism involved in the weeding out who gets in and who doesn't process. ..Asian people in particular used to catch it the worst at the spot I worked at, if there were more than two in any group them cats damn near needed to have tuxedo's on to get in. . its not just the dress code, a lot of it is just seeing who is gonna come in get drunk and start problems.
I used to do little shyt just to check people's attitudes at the door like take extra long looking over their ID, or asking them to button up their shirt, or complain about the cuff on your jeans, or the scuffs on your shoes. the length of your necklace or dog tags. . whatever .. or if a group of people show up and theres one person in that group you don't want to let in, you single out someone who is "normal" in the group, find a ridiculous reason they can't come in, and the whole group usually bounces. when there's too much t-shirt showing under a the bottom of a button up you WILL get fukked with, its a shyt test. If you get hostile, you get denied and they will remember you and fukk with you everytime.
I knew cats who came there every week and got shut down at the door every week without fail
same with sunglasses, its all in how you're acting or carrying yourself when it comes to wearing accessories at the club. . if you're wilding out, dressed sloppy with your t-shirt hanging out from under your button up, you're seen by the owners as bringing down the quality of the club. . .. thats an easy way for me to get you to settle down or in some cases kick you out. .. is to fukk with you about the sunglasses, especially if I know you'll react negatively. .
but if you're just "swaggin" it out and doin' you most bouncers won't even look twice at you and your scarf or glasses.
cats would slide their fitteds in their underwear basically at or below their ass cracks in their underwear
(PAUSE)
which is just funny to me because there's a band you have on your wrist at most spots here to identify you as an "athlete, celeb or local VIP" in order to wear a baseball cap here and you get the hat confiscated or kicked out on sight without the bracelet.
Why a grown man wants to wear a baseball cap into a club is beyond me, unless you're an athlete or celeb you look wanna be-ish, BUT if thats what you want to be able to do.
Make friends with the door man and whoever they have doing the rope at VIP, shake hands with them, chop it up with them when the club isn't busy on some BS, most door men and VIP hosts either make music or producem, get them talking. . get on a name basis with them, and as silly as this sounds tip them 10 dollars for absolutely no reason once or twice at the end of the night and say "thanks for doing a good job" etc.. . as you're leaving.
That shyt gets remembered, so when you show up in your jordan's, dunks, AF1's or whatever on a dress shoe night, that shyt slides thru no problem. Or when you wear your accessories, you don't get any questions asked. . you also stop having to wait in line.

knowledge.
cali is usually real lax when it comes to dress code. i usually go to most spots w/out dress shoes on. i didnt know scarves were a no-no at most places tho. shyt do kinda anger me when you gotta leave your accessories at home...otherwise you're just another nameless face in a sea of faces.
one time last year tho i went to this spot in downtown san diego. i never been to this place before but me and my boy were meetin up w/ a couple of hoes so whatever. we get to the back of this longass line and one of the bouncers walks up to me and is like, "yo you aint gettin in w/ that white tshirt on" i'm like :hmm: this nygga really wants it w/ me like that? it wasnt even a 'white tee' like a dem franchise boyz video. it was a primarily white polo v neck.
so i assessed my options and decided the hoes we were meetin up w/ was worth it. i turned my ass around and went to my boys apt (which was 1/2 block up the street) switched shirts, pounded a beer, and came back all within 10 minutes. i walked straight up to the front of the line and found the bouncer that got at me thinkin if this nygga say some shyt now i'm swingin on him. he was like, "yeah you straight now. skip the line homie just walk right in."
at the end of the night i kicked him down a tip..for the rest of the summer everytime i went to that spot he let me skip the line. so if you know this dude has the ability to fukk your night up, might as well show him some respect cause he'll return it.
I see nothing wrong with dresscodes as long as you can rock jeans.

no fitteds is fukkin mandatory...get a fukkin new era outta here kiddo...grow up 1 time.Exactly. The reason clubs enforce is because they're trying to portray a high-end and mature lifestyle. That's also the best way for clubs to sell the higher-end liquors and such.

When the major clubs in Hollywood were allowing them last Spring, I saw more versatility in attire than I did during the Fall season. My personal observation. I was going out more than once a week too.
Like I said though, it's all just fashion trends. This Spring once again major nightclubs are allowing more fitteds and accomodating the Spring trends recently.
In my personal opinion I just think it looks less bland than the Fall trends. Maybe it's just the versatility during the season, cuz you can still wear the "strict attire" right now too.

When I turned 21 I was tryna get into alotta clubs with my fitteds & hoodies..sometimes I'd get in sometimes I wouldn't but now I get in anywhere with my fitted jeans & Argyle. I tried not to sell out for as long as I could but I still rock my baggy ish during the week. Security treats me like I got the Anthrax on me or something when my fitted game is up.
