strengthen your knees? depending on the injury they might be fukked. have you talked to a doctor? one that specializes in sports medicine would be best.

You can't do them at all?
My girl had bad knees from when she fukked it up in track years back. Her doc back then kept tellin her to wear a band, but never guided her to recovery thru strength training. Told her to do what you do to strengthen any part of the body, resistance. Told her to do a light leg extension weight she can handle without pain, once it hurt stop. Told her to get on the stationary bike for a bit, IIRC for 10mins, if it began to hurt stop.
Over time it just stopped altogether.
But ya, depending on injury u may be **** out of luck lol

Maybe shin splints or something? Go get a physical examanationon something; the best leg workouts (IMO) are cardio with some squatting and calf raising. But yeah, shin splints are a b1tch, got me in this summer running program I was doing in preperation for cross country. Luckily I didn't do cross anyway though.

pooltime for sure.. running in the pool works wonders since it reduces impact
you cant really strengthen your knees only the muscles around them

I don't have shin splints and I CAN do those exercises, I just don't like to. They are uncomfortable. Cycling does nothing for me unless it is a real bicycle and I haven't had one of those since I was like 10.
Basically i'm lazy. I mostly work out upperbody.

I know that. I assumed everyone in here knew that.

Just wanted to know of some alternative workouts beside the usual to strengthen my legs. Leg curls and extensions are very uncomfortable and I hate squats unless it's on a squat rack. We don't have a squat rack at LA Fitness. I'm about to start working out more seriously. I'm almost 30, no kids, but when I have them I want to be able to beat them in basketball forever so I need to start now. I'm going to GNC as soon as I get off work to get some whey protein and Redline drinks. I'm also gonna start taking one day on the weekend grill me some lean meats on the George Foreman for the week as I don't have time to cook and workout. Wish me luck ya'll!

Good luck and dont give up because it isnt easy. Dont get complacent and think you peaked because you see results, keep going until you reach your goal. One last bit of advice, dont be a hard worker only when people are looking and workout like a puccy when no one is around.
Do leg press and leg extensions with lighter weight but with slower tempo and more focus and concentration
SMH@ no squat rack. Not even a power rack? WTF kind of gym is that?
