I hate weighted squats, but yeah that's far down enough.

Guy in the vid isn't even going parallel. What a fraud.

If you got a mirror in front, you should go down until you can't see your thighs.

go as low as you can.

would you jump on a bench press and only bring the bar down 1/2 way? i hope youd bring the bar all the way down to your chest (as low as it can go). deep squatting works more muscles then that 1/4 squat shiit.

if i were you i'd roll back to like 185 and start squatting the right way...then build up from there (5lbs a week) while paying attention to your form. you'll be back at 225 the right way in 2 months.

I went all the way down today, it wasn't that bad. But I'm on a new routine now... 5x5 pyramid up. I was able to do 225x5 painlessly on my last set

don't go past parallel is what my trainer friend tells me or you will fukk up your knee. I just stick to that.

It easier for me to go all the way down... when I would go parallel I would never come down to a consistent position. Now when I go all the way down it's easy as fukk to be consistent. Plus even at 225# it wasn't any harder on my knees.

for whatever reason trainers always say this. but anatomically speaking, full squats dont put any more strain on the knees.

the highest weight bearing load your knees take is when they ARE parallel. when you squat deeper than that, the weight shifts to your hips. if you already have knee problems than i would personally stop before parallel just so i dont aggrevate anything. but full squats arent doing any harm to them.

just think of the opposite. if you lock your knees (full leg extension) thats not gonna hurt your knees. but if you already got some knee problems you might feel some pain because you're fully stretching those tendons and ligaments.
