Okay, so I may have exaggerated a little. I am borderline to being a borderline diabetic.

I was a smooth 212 back in November. Now I'm a whopping 250. (Sorry ladies, not speaking about muscle gain :inlove:).

My problem....I dunno. I know stress and indolence caused my weight gain. And considering the fact that I'm heading back to physical therapy, I'll say my joints are feeling it.

I'm looking for a work-out plan to get a decent summer body (I believe in the impossible). Surprisingly, I can still play pick-up b-ball games with respectable stamina. Asthma and all. But being 5'8.5" and 250 pounds is not sexy. My pants are tight around my waist. And I cannot have that!

I like doing the elipticals. leg press is fun. My arms have always been weak, so I hate bench, etc. I really enjoy cardio. Just so relaxing. But I am open to options. I would like to get back to 210 by the summer. But 40 pounds in 3-4 months is somewhat outrageous. I appreciate any pointers.

remember getting in shape is about 20% gym and 80% diet. So worry about getting your diet right before you worry about anything else. It's really not that hard. Eat less calories a day and your body will burn fat. But you have to find the balance eating less calories and not eating enough because the latter is actually counter productive.

Once you figure that part out, you are halfway there.

yea. i got the kitchen part down. i meet w/ my nutritionist next week. but we always customize my diet based upon what kind of workout plan i'm doing. last time we met....i was more than 20 lbs lighter. she won't be happy about that. i need to have some sort of workout routine in progress/mapped out to get the most use out of our meeting.

As someone who was diagnosed with diabetes last June and has already beat it(no longer have it) I can tell you that it starts with diet first and foremost and is compliment by exercise. Soon after my initial diagnosis I had to take insulin to get me down to respectable levels because my levels were off the charts. It was actually over 600. The diabetes monitors only read to 600. I had to go to the emergency room. I had to watch my cards and I found out how hard that was. The smallest thing would spike my blood sugar level so I had to eat salads with no carb salad dressing. That shyt was horrible, but that combined with exercise lost me like 40 lbs in a 3 week period. I was hitting the treadmill for like 25 minutes a day for like 4 -5 days a week. In your case try replacing 1 meal with a salad with 0 carb salad dressing. No extras like croutons or bacon bits. Also, eat more fruit. Snack with fruit instead of candy and other junk. Also, portion control is important. Don't eat until you are full.
