I know Gnarls Barkley blew up in '06 with the hit single Crazy. It seemed like the perfect odd couple, Danger Mouse the DJ and Cee Lo the singer/rapper. After Beck dropped Modern Guilt produced by himself and Danger Mouse I have to say that Beck/Danger Mouse have tremendous chemistry and dropped the album of the year. This is my favorite record of the year at least.

I liked Modern Guilt...i think its one of Danger Mouse's better projects, but almost like everything Danger Mouse does, it has no replay value to it. It sounds great when you first hear it, but it just becomes more and more uninteresting to listen to. Theres a kinda hollow vibe to his production i find.

Its still better than the Gnarls Barkley albums, which i never really liked.

Some of Danger Mouse's best shiit was on Sparklehorse's last album....he produced four or five tracks on it.

.

hes always been like that with me too, his sh1t sounds amazing when you firt hear it then it gradually loses its effect. Dangerdoom>>anything after, and Mark Ronson is better at basically the exact same sound DM does

ill take both Gnarls records over Modern Guilt, i didnt like the beats and Beck doesnt hold my attention anymore. hes become boring in his old age

When I first heard Modern Guilt (which was when it came out, I bought it) I found it kind of boring, but now I think it is one of the best of 08, if not the best.

Walls > Any Gnarls Barkley track

But I still think overall Dangermouse's production for Gnarls Barkley is better than the production for Modern Guilt.
Still haven't heard that Sparklehorse album though.

IMO, the Gorillaz album is Danger Mouse's best. Everything else doesn't really interest me

Oh and with the exception of Sea Change, I never understood why people like Beck so much. Sea Change is fukking amazing though

My sentiments exactly. It grew on me more than died on me.
