I'd personally go with what's in the middle and get a 335i. My boy has one and it's an amazing car. I don't like the size of the 5 series. I know it's nimble, but I'd enjoy a 3 series much more.
i would steer clear of the 525 without a doubt buy used or certified pre-owned for sure
i have driven both the e39 530 and e60 530 and they are slow and underpowered i don't like i-drive but in my opinion all the nav systems are garbage unless you got aftermarket
the 535 545 or 550 are worth it for the 5 series i wouldnt spend more then 30- 45k on them much more bang for the buck more standard stuff and faster v6 twin tubo and v8's
really like 330 i have driven the e46 330i xi with sport package suspension really tight some of my friends have the new e90 328 and 330i same deal just new body style i really like the 3 series out of all the bm's in production saw a few m3' sedans over the weekend :king::king: i can barley imagine and i have driven the audi s4 and s5

330i > 525i
If that 330 is a manual, then it's the obvious choice.

my moms got a 525 and the transmission went out. lucky they bought the extended warranty, cuz that sh*t cost $6000 to replace. BMW rapes u.
compare that to when my transmission went out on my old acura that was under warranty, it cost only $2500 to replace from the dealership, which is still a lot of money as well.

Whats the difference between the 330i and the 335i? and is it enough to pay the extra cash? also Ocho Seis a fan of the 5 series because of the size some 3s are real small and considered entry level

Ocho Seis not a fan of manual cars, Automatic all the way just more convenient

Is transmission issues a common theme with BMW's? or is it just a common thereme for just that model car?

335i has the better motor, and I prefer the smaller size. I think the gain in hp is worth it.
?
what state ya in i hate for people to drop a engine size cause of $
when there's so many deals out there, dealerships tricking people into getting 3 year old cars for close to msrp new with 20k miles ..

Ocho Seis will look into it some cat on Ocho Seis block has the 2 door version of the 335 in all white, its a beast
IMO, the only 3 series worth buying is an M3. I don't get why folk go crazy over this car.

i just copped the 08 330i...test drove the 5-series but settled on the 3...bmw does rape u with the service contract but the sh*t is worth imo...don't sleep on it cause of size, car packs some power behind it...plus its manuevers good as hell even at top speed....i think the fastest i've taken it so far is 140-145 and it doesn't even feel like it...80mph feels like 40mph now...haven't gotten any tix yet but expecting a few once it warms up

i paid 29k but i got them not only to give me the rims on the car but some other style rims too....the mileage on it was low and i usually hate buying cars withany mileage on them....even though i got the idrive and sh!t, it is overrated....i'm gonna do a lot of aftermarket stuff like the iPod connector(bmw charges damn near $700 for that)...get some bigger wheels...it ain't really much u need to do to it cause the car speaks for itself...unless u gonna n*gga-rize that mf cuz i do see some cats around KC who put all ridiculous kits on the sh!t
