how come SOHH does not allow images?

we wish to preserve the clean, streamlined look that our forums have always had. we don't want big graphics and images cluttering it all up. many of our users post exclusively from their places of work, so obviously keeping the site as professional-looking as possible is best for them.

also, we don't really have the resources to moderate images (for porn, etc) the way that we would need to, were they enabled.

finally, there may be technical reasons for not allowing images.. i'm not certain about those specifics, though.
