Aight, so are the new rules saying that the winner of the previous month has to pick the next Sample? How's this working out? Since Tek's (sorta) not a MOD here anymore I figured I'd step in and...um...act like a MOD.

Help me out, y'all. What we need to do?

I think we should just have the mods pick the sample. Last time we tried to have the winner pick the sample, it didn't work out. I also think Big Jo would make a great mod. He has my nomination.

ONLY ONE RULE USE THE SAMPLE ANY WAY YOU WANT AND IF YOU WIN YOU PICK NEXT MONTH'S SAMPLE TO FLIP (OK MAYBE THAT'S 2)

thanks for replying....i got something but it's waaaaaaaaaaay different than I think everyone else is going to post and i don't know how it would be recieved...it's not my usual stuff but I did it to be different, so i'm curious how everyone would respond to it.
i don't knowlisten to me, and listen to me good...

post your work. don't sweat what ppl think. if anything you post is half as good as that dilla joint you'll be better than straight. that shyt was bananas.

and in beat club...it's all love. if someone don't like something they'll give you the reason why they don't feel it.

Alright beat club here is my attempt at the Feb flip. here's the disclaimer: fellas you might not like this but your girl or sister will. i just wanted to flip it differently than i thought anyone else would.

Ahh.. the benefit of an acapella. The beat is pretty basic as far as a flipping standpoint. But the song is hot.

This is what troubles me in these flipping contests. When I'm making a beat, I keep thinkin I have to do some crazy shyt with the sample or else its not impressive enough. Plus when chopping I do out of the ordinary stuff just because I know everyone is gonna chop those OBVIOUS parts.

WOOOOW if i would have known that putting up a lil rnb song would cause so much controversy I wouldn't have upped it in the beat flip and just put in another area of the forum...i always check the beat flip every single month and i always hear chopped up hip hop and thats great and i'm a hiphop head to the fullest ...i'm envious of alot of the beats i hear on here because i'm never satisfied with my s**t and it makes me want to get better... but its like comparing turntablist to a club dj...a turntablist does something totally different from a club dj. i wasn't trying to set the world on fire with this s**t...but my people told me it was hot so i upped it. i can chop up samples all day homie but i tried to do something different. my intention isn't even to win the beat flip but just contribute to the thread....and to me the OBVIOUS part of the song is the part with the flute not the first six notes. i never heard any of your stuff so i can't speak on it but just because someone can chop samples into a million pieces doesnt mean they are a dope beatmaker or producer. so in closing if i offended any "REAL" beatmakers my apologies.

i'm really feelin this sample and all the flips posted so far. i like how every beat is real original, so far my favorites would probably be tekniks first, frostbite, or hazalah. the boominator your beat is real dope man i could only hear the beginning cus its a wav and it takes forever to load but i liked how you used the flute. keep em comin ya'll its only the beginning of the month. anyways heres mine
