why barney put this dude shyt in their stores i would never know. Nobody wanna look like this fool
André Benjamin, better known as André 3000 of Outkast, just launched his own clothing line about four months ago.
WoooHa.com just exclusively reported that the line, Benjamin Bixby, is struggling to survive due to extremely low sales and excess inventory.
Unfortunately, the high-fashion, high-priced line had bad timing, launching at the beginning of one of the worst recessions in U.S. history.
With André being meticulous about quality and detail, the cost of production obviously increased.
Only limited quantities of Benjamin Bixby was produced, and it was mostly sold online on luxury sites like Barneys.com.
Although the line is fashionable and of high quality, sales have still been devastatingly low.
This is likely due to the fact that the name is not very well known, yet prices are demanding - for example, this sweater vest in the collection ran for $275:
BX Sweater Vest by Benjamin Bixby
Currently, the most of Benjamin Bixby is now more than 50% off at Barneys.
The brand really had no choice but to accept these drastic markdowns - unless they wanted to run the risk of having merchandise shipped right back to André himself!
WoooHa.com states it “has always been strong supporters of Mr. Benjamin and his out-of-the-box thinking and fashion sense, so we hope his clothing line can rebound.”
