that is an honest review,.........i appreciate the props on my writing ability.

which at that age, is all i could do, globally well, as an artist.

i was only twentytwo, or twenty three at this point,..when i wrote this record.

honestly,..i didn't have the delivery, flow or the convincability at that stage to do my rhymes justice in full presentation, when performing written's,...which is evident on who is E,..and good grief. yet if i did a show,..or re-recorded them i think the outing would be a lot different. yet i wouldn't have a problem, transitioning to an old rhyme because my writing skill and technique was/is solid.

similar to most rappers, with anemiac writing skills, and lack other intangibles, who debut and spit now, at my respective age, then. yet actually lack the writing skill, to garner their actual position.

yet, i believe my increasd and heightened development into who i am now on the mic, is a testement.

to at least being sound bar to bar, rhyme to rhyme, first. plus having some type of edge rhyme writing wise.
which you need to be, and have at that level of draw in the underground, too. to even get fans, to actually come visit you back stage, and say they were impressed. or, face to face, actually respect my opinion and note in person, i was good at reviewing rap as a business and art. that is why i found it ironic, and endearing over my time here on sohh.com...that people gave me props for reviewing artist and their material.

i have been told i could write rhymes, and was an incredible performer, for ever. i have also been told, you could review rap records by legends, and other signed guys and underground hopefuls in my travels. yet, the knock at this particular time as an artist, was to small intangibles. the 'breakdown' [lol] at this particular time, i honestly and evidently wasn't wholeheartedly solid enough, yet, imo....


it was indicative of my position, at that time.

yet, i was still good enough lyrically, rhyme to rhyme that i still have fans, or did apparently well, on stage, tour to tour,..city to city,...sh!t, usa to canada, for that age, and day and time, as well. when i actually finally got to perform the record consistently a few years later, when it was featured and available for purchase. plus my intangible skillset, had caught up to my live performing.

people like this song,...and were glad to actually have a copy of this record. i also,..have gotten less than favorable reviews, but the less than favorable ones. are the ones i learned a lot about not self equating, and being objective to criticism. plus using as a point to improve, well a phuckin obsession to improve. i have even sold the record, venue to venue. people, actually were very glad it was included in ju's material, too. or personally ask me where to get the record. then elated it was on ju's debut record, and could get them both at the same time in purchase. which at the time, ju's debut was a highly rated and anticipated record, on an indie distribution label. even the label, which basically went bankrupt, had high pre-orders for ju's debut record. really high pre-orders.
ju's full major label record, from that period has songs that may never see the light of day, too.
it is just things didn't fall through, or close administratively, or executively as a business, at that particular time, or since then. this is a business, it is a lot more than just money. it is a lot more than just particular skills. it is a number of factors, to getting offered and to actually close a contract. let alone the next level to have a release. which is something i don't think a lot of actual fans understand the process in full. which leads to why i don't agree with people creating a stigma at the time, on artist. which split up, the draw of rap artist from skills, to other silly bits and pieces of credibility, which aren't actually relevent to an artist and actual artistry.

it is also,..why i believe a stigma exist currently right now,..that is ruining music, and not just rap wholeheartedly.

good grief, imo......was a lil triumph for me then as a writer. especially cause that is the direction or foundation wholeheartedly and globally, skillwise.

i would like to think it it will be a rare joint, if you happen to get to the next level people, reveiw favorably, in hindsight as well.

who is he, had to many components to be able to fully illustrate as a emcee, at the particular time. it is much older, in respect to good grief as well in timeline of when i actually wrote and recorded it. i lacked convincability, accurrate control and tonal quality and consistent execution bar to bar. yet i think the writing is funny. yet, imo, for me as an artist,....... it illustrates and indicates versatility, lyrically when compared to good grief.
