always go with the classic horse, the small one... the big huge colored horses they got now are wack
try to avoid paying full price for one unless you really like that design or color. if you just want to step your polo game up, tj maxx or marshall's is the place to be.
good deals can also be found at the salvation army or polo outlet as well
pretty much anything with the logo looks good on it. maybe something like socks, underwear or a belt is overkill.... but any kind of shirt with the horse emblem is usually dope and safe for any occasion

well you can tell who knows anything about RL. people who stay on that "polo this, polo that," prob haven't seen anything but their golf shirts. and they def ain't seen anything by one of their true ralph lines, like black label or purple label.
to the threadstarter, check out their website ralphlauren.com. you can see all the different lines they actually make, they offer waaaaaaay more than just their golf shirts. not sure where if you're ever in nyc, but the best place to actually see all that ralph truly offers is to go to their flagship store in madison ave in manhattan. the displays are some of the best put together outfits and styles i think i've ever seen from just one label.

Purple label is overpriced at full retail price. Can get made to measure for those prices. Quality is top notch though.

nah, you probably didnt shop there recently. a few years ago they sold irregulars, they were all marked with stickers and heavily discounted.
now they're just styles that are out of season or overstock. they have the OG tags on them and everything.
i have atleast ten polos from those stores and they fit exactly the same as ones i've gotten from macy's and other department stores or the polo outlet.
and the quality is good too, i still wear the ones i bought in high school and they haven't shrunk or deteriorated. the fabic just depends on the style, usually it's the less expensive fabric that RL uses but sometimes you can find the softer ones too... trust me.

honestly, every casual outfit i ever wear consists of Nike, Levi, and Polo. I have probably 6-7 of their winter hats, countless polos and sweaters, and i'm a sucker for for their jackets.
My favorite pieces from the blue label polo line in the last few years are the R varsity cardigans, the Blackwatch line Polos, and Match polos before everyone hopped on, the 1932 sweater from this past winter, and their rugbys from last year. This years rugbys were really overdone.
The 40th anniversary crest (67) polos were deadly too.

without getting too technical
i believe the polo golf shirts sold at tj and marshalls are interlock shirts which retail for 40-ish or so but are heavily marked down..
the OG polos are called 'The Mesh Polo".. which means its 100% "breathable" cotton.. they run in "classic fit"(my personal fave) and "custom fit" which are the kinds the white boys wear.. no offense
im trying to collect ralph lauren cardigans right now which are a rare find imo.. or maybe im just in the wrong spots
as far as the black label and purple.. they joints go up to 400 for a cashmere.. i got one triple horsed polo from black label and one plain one that dont say nothin on that shyt so nyggas dont even know that its black label.. smh.. i just fukk with og ralph lauren polo cause i aint ballin like that

are you referring to the smooth type cotton vs. the rougher cotton ala Lacoste and the Polo you are referring to?
Cause Macys sells both and I think the smoother one is a few bucks less.

Aside from size and texture in material, they pretty much the same. I have one and its one size smaller than the more traditional polo.

you obviously know what you're talking about so i'm not questioning your knowledge
but next time you're at TJ Maxx look at the polos. they leave the OG ralph lauren price tags on, and they usually say $75

....'aside from size and texture'....thats a big fukkin difference dude....bigger size/worse cut + lower quality material = cheap ass shirt.
people know it when they see it.

Ralph Lauren maybe the best American fashion ever...but I can't get into it for the life of me. I've always appreciated their shyt, but in college seeing so many lame dude have closets filled with polos just killed it for me.
