Anyone notice the new trends...

Ive been rocking some cheap ass clothes lately. And people tell me i look nice in them, LOL. Is this what we have come to, cheap clothes = Trendy. Spend 60 bucks on a pair of sneakers and your in the trends. Before this wasn't even possible. Spend 15 bucks on a shirt, and YOUR TRENDY! Everyone is a hipster now! Dudes are out here wearing some beat up vintage, thrift store clothes. I mean its crazy how times have changed. Before i remember rocking expensive jays and being in the trends, now all you need is a pair of 40 dollar kicks and your cool.

Now its Cheap = cool :guilty: Thats how you know the economy is bad. I rarely see guys and girls in new Jordans anymore. Its so rare now. SB dunks, dont even exist anymore.

Man i got Jays 1-21 in my life time, i prefer 39.99 dollar vans over them shiits now simply because they look so socially awkward in NYC rite now. Everyone in nyc looks like they made out fits in a thrift store. You arnt seeing as many expensive clothes with logos, its all really plain cheap shiit now lol.

Like normally, this is what an nyc girl looks like rite now.

I wouldn't consider $60 a cheap pair of shoes but I get what you're saying. Just like with the whole American Eagle/Hollister/Abercrombie fad. Wear that shiit 5 years ago and you would get clowned until school was over (I know from experience). People like to follow.

That's what I'm saying. I'm a college student and I have so many bills and I just don't have money to hop on all these trends. So I have been shopping in nothing but thrift stores and clearance racks. You see that red cardigan in my avy, I got that for 8 bucks in Goodwill lol. I mean I don't tell everyone that I shop at a thrift shop, but they stay asking me where I shop at, because a lot of my sh*t be exclusive hahahaha

Most hipsters come from rich families and most of that looks cheap but is expenisve. Your just cheap there is a differnce. Don't call it a new trend the vintage look has been going on for more then 3 years you just decided to jump on the bandwagon cause your frugal .

I have friends who are trust fund babies... And they dont spend a lot of money ever, matter fact when the dunk movement was going on i remember people WITH MONEY saying "200 bucks for sneakers man thats crazy 50 bucks is the limit" This was common. All the brooklyn hipsters who live in highrise condos dont wear expensive shiit, walk into a thrift store and they're all there! The expensive clothes that look cheap isnt the trend rite now, im dead fuking serious niccas is just wearing cheap clothes!

This sounds more like a in your circle thing more then anything else. Because American Apparel and them others like it are raking in on that relaxed hipster look.

Sales at some of the biggers ones are up 5-10% from the same time last year.

I got into that scene after messing with an artsy chick several years ago. If you live in a fashion forward city (I do) it is also a plus. I have seen Goodwills with more impressive storefronts that some retailers. Many are frequented by upper middle class, designers, etc. Only a few I really mess with though.

sample sales and out of season sales hold me down....Getting $160 jeans for $50 is always a great feeling.... Plus I rarely pay full price for anything. But I`d rather pay a little extra for a brand I know over a no-name brand. If I saw a polo hoodie for $40 and a Footlocker hoodier for $20 I`ll still ride with the polo.

I`m bout to cop a pair of these though:

i think it's more about how you put things together/sense of style.. plus the whole logo thing isn't really "in" right now like it used to be

wow!!! i keep saying i'm gonna try shopping at thrift stores but i haven't gone yet. i just got my first experience buying "pre-owned" clothes on ebay a few weeks ago 4 pairs of jeans and a sweater for like 45 bucks including shipping and normally one pair would be like $30-70

That's kinda always been trendy though. Anyone can spend a lot of money on clothes, but a lot of those same people don't know how to coordinate their outfits.

this is true.

I'm 6'6 240 so i'm at a disadvantage in most regular stores being an odd size. .. because i'm tall but I don't fit the "big" part of big and tall.

fukkin morons...
this sh.t happens every 2 years...
n.ggas get mad and wanna change their style when it becomes "mainstream"
then all of a sudden sh.t they wore not too long ago becomes wack/played out and they go in search of something else and it turns into a cycle.
i wonder wut u idiots are gonna wear next year.
