Anybody got experience with auto auctions?

So I need to get a car for my moms. Just a lil something to get around with. I keep hearing auctions can have some nice rides for decent prices. Never been to one so I'm clueless.

How do they handle plates/insurance and stuff like that. I'm sure you can't just go driving away with no insurance/plates. I wanna know so I can have everything legit before I get there. Don't wanna blow all the cash I on the car to find out I got some other expenses just to leave with it.

I'm an insurance agent and I've received calls from clients who have purchased cars from auctions to add them to their policies.

Most people that I know usually tow the cars back, but these are dealer auctions.

Oh I hadn't thought about towing. I got AAA roadside so they should tow it home. Thanks.
