This is probably a flop in the making, but I will give it a try...

Who or what influences your style (people, environments, etc.)

My mom stays fly. Even her umbrellas match her outfits. She has over 10 umbrellas. She is a pretty conservative dresser, but with color, so maybe that is why I dress more on the preppy/conservative side.

My mentor. He had 7 leather coats and a different pair of leather shoes to match each one. He was more flashy than me though. Influenced me to step my shoe game up.

The Mayor that I was affiliated with is known to stay fly. Was even recognized by Esquire Magazine. Some of his staff has been with him for 6+ years and have only seen him out of a suit a few times (weekends and summertime included). Most politicans have a pretty canned style, but he stayed sharp. N/H.

Graffiti because of the blends and visuals.

My father - his tie and shoe game is immaculate

JFK - effortless style

George Clooney - effortless style.. makes it look easy

Will Smith - even it he rocking a trend he looks ahead of the curve.. I know it doesn't make sense but I was reading a magazine and he was rocking a cardigan but he made it his own style

mid to late 60's fashion

look at malcolm and ali.. simple, understated, tailored

i don't really think i have a style. i think what i wear is pretty boring and repetitive. change a color or 2, switch shirt from gingham to check, match it with brown or black shoes. it's pretty effortless. i guess i look like every other professional guy my age who knows a label or 2.

50s and 60s, northeast/american traditional inspired pieces. classic, effortless, understated pieces that fit perfectly. anything that represents a pushback against the modern/italian, boxy shoulders/sharp angles, ultra tapered, double/triple/reverse pleated style of fashion that has been all the rage since the 80s.

to me that means that more often than not i am wearing a tie that is relatively narrow compared to what is considered "normal" today; i like button down collar shirts, striped/regimental ties, jackets with soft/"natural" shoulders, less tapered at the waist and almost always 3 button that roll to 2. pants are except for one or two exceptions, flat front with minimal break. finally im a sucker for a great pair of wingtips.

Yeah, JFK. Also Diddy. He can pull off casual, urban, and sophisticated effortlessly.

Bingo. If you look like a million, they'll treat you like a million. I've even wore a suit to address the public (while on my porch) the day after minor heart surgery.

i don't really think i have a "style" just things i like/wear.. my friends have told me my style is "like pearls and a sweater sets" lol so i guess classic stuff. i'm not really big on trends (except club clothes, but i don't club much anymore) EDIT: yeah i can see myself wearing something like this (http://fuzzylizzie.com/myPictures/cashmere/lyle.jpg)

first and foremost, comfort. whatever i wear has to be something comfortable in many positions. i've tried stuff on (mostly jeans) that look really cute and fit... while standing. but then i do the sit test and i either can't sit, the jeans slide way down my butt, or they do something weird at the waist. so pretty much everything i wear (not dressy stuff) is comfortable enough for me to sit cross legged on the floor. i guess environment factors in i won't wearing nice/expensive things to work because i do art projects...

second, functionality. most things in my wardrobe are things i need... um. except accessories i guess...

third, people i know. family and friends. things i observed adults wearing in my childhood. lol... i remember this leather pencil skirt my granny had.. and my mom..she's ALWAYS color coordinated. EDIT: as evidenced (http://photos-d.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v135/143/42/38511910/n38511910_31750587_7388.jpg) by my color coordinated socks, shorts, and flowers in the shirt

everything else/media. i might see something in a movie or magazine and have that piece in my head for months before i actually get something like it...

I don't really have any influences. I just wear what I like as long as it fits, the price is reasonable, and isn't plastered with logos.

I also try to avoid anything that seems too trendy.

I stay suited and booted at all times. When I step out the house, it's lights, camera, action!

I'm my own influence, I wear what I like, I don't care if anyone likes it or not

people who know how to dress don't need a outside influence of any kind

Oh okay

nothing wrong with gaining inspiration from others. no one is the first to do anything. being able to appreciate others, to learn and then to incorporate ideas into your own style or even life is the mark of an adult; a thinking person. it shouldn't be considered a sign of intellectual or sartorial weakness.

i don't know.. i don't really follow trends.. i have clothes that are 10 years old & i'm still wearing them today.. i also change styles to suit my mood..

workdays i am always in suits.. or tailored dresses of some sort, accessories to a minimum and fitted but not slutty.

weekends i'm usually in my trackies, bikini or shorts.. i really can't be bothered making an effort if i'm just staying in the area..

if i'm going out, it kind of changes - one day i am doing punk rock, the next minute i am doing old french woman..

Simple put lyrics/ music.
The artists I listen to open me up to a whole new world. Az made me wear prada. Big made me cop the versace shades. Jay made me wear 7 jeans and evisu when I was younger. However Today I crafted my own style through my own vision. Being a former painter I like to take an empty canvas and create a masterpiece. Of course we all were inspired by someone or something. Its not a bad thing.
