View Full Version : Question about button up shirts
How do you guys find ones that fit you just right? I can't get one that will tuck in perfectly without any of it budging out.
I'm not sure if it's because I got a slim torso.
corny pic but this is a good example of what I'm talking about

You might have to start getting your joints tailored fam
Otherwise look for "Custom" or slim fit button ups.

HK? So you send him your measurements and he ships the shirts to you?
Slim fit shirts.
What store sells these?
HK? So you send him your measurements and he ships the shirts to you?
exactly, he sends you a form to fill out for your measurments/specifications and a book of fabrics. then you send him back your measurements, pick a collar style, a cuff, pocket/no pocket, monogram/no monogram, etc. he sends them back, usually in about 2-3 weeks.
$38 total? shipped?
depends on where the HKD is currently trading, but last order i have him was for 3 shirts and i think the total w shipping was like $118.00.
Most manufacturers sell slim fit shirts. Ralph Lauren has a number of different cuts, I believe Euro Cut is the slimmest.
I get mines tailored. The shirts in a Big and Tall store= :smh:
Brooks Brothers is good for button up shirts.

how much do you pay avg per shirt
how much do you pay avg per shirt
They aint cheap but you can go to a discount place like K&G or Men's Warehouse and have someone measure you. I know both places do tailoring for suits so they may be able to tailor a shirt or at least get referred to a tailor that does shirts.

brooks brothers has a line of slim fit shirts.
a lot on the stores have on-site tailors that will take in off-the-rack shirts they sell there, department stores included. only problem is once the shirt hits the racks the seams are typically are sewn closed along the 2 sides of the back. so when they take in the baggy area around the chest and stomach they typically have to add another seam of their own. sometimes this is pretty visible and looks a little weird.

so no matter how good your shirt fits it's pretty much impossible to get your shirt to stay like this right? Like you got to re-tuck your shirt in a few times during the day right?

Brooks Brothers Outlets usually have good deals 2 for $70/$75 which is a great price for a quality shirt. I have found some for even cheaper. I just find their shirts to be really wide for some reason.

lol. yeah, that only happens in ads and television. they usually pin the clothes in place so they stay like that. without clothespins shirts wrinkle, untuck, ties knots loosen, etc.

you ever heard of drag pins? I think that's what they call them. Supposed to tighten up your shirts while you wear them.

if you buy clothes at better clothiers or brand stores, simply ask for more slim cuts. The difference between the Ralph Lauren Classic fit, the custom fit and the BLAKE fit (disgust), for example is drastic.
