I agree--my feeling about the whole thing is I've heard M.I.A. and I've heard Karen O. I'll pass.

There are a couple of stinkers in general that are getting a lot of praise. TV on the Radio, Lil Wayne, and MGMT just to name a few.

I agree--my feeling about the whole thing is I've heard M.I.A. and I've heard Karen O. I'll pass.
There are a couple of stinkers in general that are getting a lot of praise. TV on the Radio, Lil Wayne, and MGMT just to name a few.
WOW.I agree that she DOES remind people of Karen O,but thats not a bad thing,especially since i love The Yeah Yeah Yeahs.I guess that might be why I like it so much.

I like nearly all the songs on the album,and she only sounds like M.I.A. on a few tracks.

I haven't given Oracular Spectacular a full listen,so I don't know,but I LOVE Electric Feel.

Never listened to the Bloc Party--sort of wrote 'em off after the last record. But the Foals record is really dope.

Another night up late due to music downloading... i'm going to be zombie tomorrow (3:30a EST & i gotta be at work by 8:30a).

Anyway, Clem... i checked the Foals & these guys are beasts, man. Really slick stuff. That single off their new sh*t "Balloons" is tight.

I don't think my list is really going to be in stone until at least after Christmas but right now i'm seeing M83 at the top followed really close by Grizzly Bear. Both just incredible albums for so many reasons to me. So good. I can't deny Oracular Spectacular before the backlash, either. I remember going nuts to this record before summer. It's sucks to go from this stuff to Fleet Foxes & Bon Iver, though. I actually think this year has been such a great year, too. Thick, too... because both The Evil Jeanius & Tronic came out & were dope.

I wish i worked in music, lol.

M83 is a mix of electronica and shoegazing, and Grizzly Bear is experimental indie folk (the best way I can describe it). Nothing like Foals at all
