View Full Version : What would you say the secret is to eating better?
is it substituting good foods for bad foods?
hypnotizing yourself into wanting foods you don't really care for?
trying to frighten yourself into eating better by using high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes ect?
i guess what i'm saying is how do you motivate yourself to eat right?
You just feel better when you eat proper food.
You just feel better when you eat proper food.
if that was the case the majority of the world would be in great shape.
my thing is substitutes foods. there's a couple books called eat this not that that i'm using to come up with good ones.

aint nuthin to it but to do it
The more you start eating healthy foods the less you'll enjoy junk food. Everything will start to taste too salty, too fatty, etc.
And like King said, just do it. Have some will power, you will feel better that you did.

I just remember the goal I am reaching for and how the diet will benefit me later.
Plus, choosing food that you actually like makes it better too.

No...
Eat 2 big mac's and see how you feel.
Eat some salmon with rice and veggies and see how you feel.
There's a huge difference between the 2.

Man I ate a double quarterpounder wiff cheese not too long ago and I felt like shiit afterwards. I don't eat at Mickey D's no more and I can see why now lol.
My secret is to treat myself once a week (always on Saturday) to a pizza, or a burger from Chili's or some other non-healthy meal. Keeps me sane lol.

Stop eating for pleasure.
Word. Me being an ex-chubby niqqa this is a serious post. I finally figured this out, but from time to time I STILL get urges to eat bullshyt just because I know it tastes good.
Eating for pleasure= sure weight gain and unhappiness.
Stop eating for pleasure.
completely disagree.
As a health conscious dude that loves to eat, I would never stop eating for pleasure. You just gotta know what to eat and also when and how much to splurge. If I couldn't eat for pleasure, I seriously would rather die.

There nothing wrong with cheating every now and then. As long as you don't make it a habit.
I have a cecillian pizza pie all to myself almost every saturday. I don't know why but I just can't resist lol. Hasn't had any negative effect on my results, but then again my goal for the every winter is to put on clean pounds in preparation for the spring/summer cutting.
completely disagree.

What you just described is dieting, not eating for pleasure.

another thing, do whatevers necessary to cook for yourself rather than eat out
and learn to BAKE, baking is healthier than most types of cooking, and try to eliminate bread as a necessity(sandwiches only for me)
my typical day
Breakfast: Eggs(any type) Canadian Bacon and Oatmeal
Workout: Protein shake
Lunch: Turkey sandwich no cheese with lettuce tomato and russian dressing(fukk yall its good)
Dinner: Chicken/Lean Pork(tenderloin is delicious and healthy)/Steak(make it how you choose) + 2 vegetable sides
before sleep: Fruit and a glass of Water
the key imo is consistently cooking and drinking water, and if you find yourself always hungry, try Almonds/Cranberries as a snack between meals here and there(portion shouldnt be larger than your hand)
my food tastes good and im never hungry, if you MUST eat fast food get a six inch Turkey/Chicken breast sub from subway with all vegetables no cheese and some sauce that you like(NO MAYO)

Learn about calories and macros. Everything will fall into place and give u an understanding on why certain foods are better than others for whatever goal you're aiming for. Knowledge is power and in this case a better lifestyle.
Also, nowadays there's almost always a healthy alternative to your favorite foods.

how is it dieting when I'm still eating stuff that tastes good and it's not healthy for you? I'm not going to argue but I def don't agree that you have to stop eating for pleasure. You can enjoy life and still be healthy.

find healthy foods that taste good... it's the only thing that worked for me.. cause if something doesn't taste good i probably won't eat it and will probably eat something bad that does taste good

In your original post you didn't understand what eating for pleasure is.
In this post you still don't understand what eating for pleasure is.
Everything you described in this thread pertaining to you is dieting in some fashion.
