alright help a fat bastard out... i haven't been to the gym in a number of years and am now about 30 pounds overweight. im looking to lose that and cut down on fat but i just wanna know what approach to take.
i know all the right food to eat and stuff like that but what i'm saying is should i just focus on cardio until i get the weight down or should i do cardio and lifting at the same time. and im not trying to get brolic or anything i just wanna have some definition ya dig??

If I was you these are the things I would focus on the most in order.

good diet 70%
cardio 20%
gaining muscle by lifting 10%

The first two are self explanatory but the last one helps you lose weight too because the more muscle you gain, the faster your body can burn more fat. One main lift you need to add is the squat. If you can gain muscle in your legs, the largest muscles in your body, you will burn weight faster.
