I have several of the old milk crates full of records, some even have records in them and then more records stacked flat on top. I have a hidden cabinet in my house that is full of records in crates.

I also have a bunch of records i've bought (and downloaded) on an external drive. When space used to be a major issue, I would go to the record store and buy some records and then rip them with my usb turntable and just store them digitally as .wav (if i knew i was going to use it) or as .mp3.

Maybe we should redefine a 'crate' of records in our digital era. Not to throw out the original concept by no means, but develop an equivalent in the digital era. How many MB's or GB's do you think equal a crate of records?

Talk to me man.

I feel that. Nastiest said he got like 700 GB of samples on an external. Sunz got like 500 GB. Mowgli said he got like 50,000 mp3s... I know Seige got alot too. Justice got like 5,000 records and 500 Gigs. The amount of samples some guys got on here is incredible.

Just a new way to dig for samples I'd say.

the worst thing is to see someone who hoards samples but never makes a beat.
