there's what, over 200,000 jobs in the US alone between them? not to mention the rippling effect in various other industries. the economy is fragile enough as it is.
plus we need them to build the fuel efficient cars that'll get us off foreign oil. we can't let programs like the Chevy Volt fall apart. they're now a matter of national security.

fail, they'll operate in bankruptcy, and that may buy them more time to develop new cars
giving them money is just more debt to incur for something destined to fail

I heart that you're privy to this.
So you're more so leaning towards the "rip the band aid right off" effect of the pain now and better after?
Let them fail. 3 million jobs lost. It wont be the end of the world. Bailout is only going to delay the ineveitable. We HAVE to go through tough times right now.

seriously, w/ american cars being overall less appealing than their foreign counterparts why should they be bailed out? alot of the american cars for the average consumer don't even look like they're trying. I mean... I love some of the cars they're bringing BACK out. but overall.... meh.
Gm killed the electric car in the first place, let them fail.

yep just denying them the bailout wont mean they will shut down, they'll operate under new rules for restructuring and might turn out better in the end
another proposal is to let them go into bankruptcy and then let them the money to operate insuring we're the first to get payed in case they have to liquidate the companies
