I Am Legend by Richard Matheson. I hear the book is better than the movie (as is always the case), so I wanted to get this one in before I saw the film.

Books for school. but they are pretty good.

"Generals Die In Bed" - Charles Yale Harrison

WW1 story about an American soldier fighting with the Canadians on the front line. based on personal experiences and **** thats happened to his friends in the war, etc. Very good read.

"The Line" - Arch someone.

A true story about an Australian General in WW1 who went to war and was captured and used as a slave to build a railway line from Singapore to Burma or something. Half way through.

Honestly, I didn't really get into it until the 3rd part of her story. I was compelled to read Eat, Pray, Love after seeing Elizabeth's interview on Oprah- I found her personality to be very likable and thought 'heck why not give the book a chance'?!.

Throughout the book I still found a very likable person with at times a deprecating sense of self yet and maybe its because I'm not into meditation, and yoga (though I have done the latter for my own selfish reasons) as much as she but I just couldn't connect. Yet I still mustered up enough courage? to finish the book and as I previously said the 3rd part really pulled me in.

I have now passed on the book to a co-worker...perhaps it will suit her more than it did me. *shrugs* Personally I can't say that I would read the book again but I would recommend it to those who may be in a tough spot in their lives. :)

I am currently reading, You Sexy Thing! by Tori Carrington.

Been on it for a long time but The Collected Autobiographies of Maya Angelou. It's a good read but the parts I read in HS, I had to reread, so its taking my a while to get off of it. Hopefully, I'll be done soon cuz I got a lot of unread books on the shelf.

That's funny, I felt the same way throughout a lot of it! The 3rd part was definitely my favorite but the whole book DID make me re-evaluate how I deal with things in my life. I'm passing it on to a girlfriend who I KNOW will benefit 10 times more than me, and in that way - it did a lot for me!

SO funny cause that's exactly why I picked it up in the first place too! :O

I had a field day at Barnes and Noble and Borders. I got 3 books:

The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz
Skinny Bytch - Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin; overall, it's about vegetarianism, but it's mostly about the harmful ingredients in most foods
The Egyptian Book of the Dead - E.A. Wallis Budge

I tend to read multiple books at once (College conditioning), so I'll be busy with these.

thoughts on this?

i saw their new book in borders a couple of days ago. the follow-up to skinny bytch.. "kick-ass recipes", something something.. i can see how they're appealing to women of all types/shapes/etc.. very marketable.
