The story takes place in a mansion in the Caribbean islands (very sexy). Ok anyway, lol, it has two main characters: Jadine and Song. Jadine is a dark-skinned fashion model, with a white boyfriend, who is only wealthy because her aunt and uncle are servants for this wealthy white family. She meets Song who is a strong-minded, uneducated, poor black man (basically everything she hates) and is drawn to him for some reason. They soon have an affair. The story is basically surrounding their struggles as an African American couple as they travel to the United States.
