And if so, where? I wrote a book in 2004 for the Congressional Award Program that I rushed near the end and it's not really finished. I have to do a rewrite. One of the chapters is based off a dream I had (I woke up and wrote down). This book is mostly chapters added before and after the dream to make it flow with the rest of the story. I was looking at it last night and realized it could make a good short story. I got it copyrighted but I'll probably need to re-copy write it. I know the short story process is a different from novels. Don't know if I need to go through that literary agent search process or just find a magazine to publish it in.

You don't need an agent to publish shorts, they'll be pretty useless there; but publish enough shorts and an agent will be interested.

Good luck with publishing the story! I am eager to have a glimpse upon it ;) I've always highly appreciated short stories, specially by masters O. Henry, Kurt Vonnegut and P.G. Wodehouse.

I've talked with my English professor. I let her look at some of it. She said she can put it into the college's newspaper or some kind of magazine where other students contribute their short stories. I never heard of any of those authors. I guess I need look em up.
