I have the following in my garage.
Punching bag

Bench

Dumbbells
Perfect Push up
Jump Rope
Currently, I do a lot of heavy bag work, dumbbell presses, push ups, ab work, "duck walk" looking weighted squats, jump roping and I jog on occasion.
Looking for additional routines/drills etc to get my hybrid Roy Jones Jr, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPT6E_ouBnM) Mike Tyson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HZo61qevJ0) and Wanderlei Silva (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KK8YSyT6Dc) on.

you need a resistance band, it's better than weights for fighting because you need a bigger range of motion...also, you better make damn sure that you stretch ALOT.
Do punches with the resistance band wrapped around something. For your legs, do squat jumps and squat walks.

I do have resistance bands but I don't use them much. I normally punch with 10lb dumbbells in my hand to build muscle endurance, strength and speed...but that makes sense about range of motion (see my elbow comment below)
I've already learned the lesson of stretching...after over extending straight left punches, i've kind of irritated my elbow...not too bad, but probably could have been prevented through more stretching.
I do jumping squats normally right after the weighted squats....squats are a beast and probably the best exercise for building total lower body strength.

It's better to do those on your back if you're gonna do them with dumbbells. But yeah, use that resistance band in almost every motion imaginable, and punching will become about as natural as walking.

i thought about just copping some wrist weights...i think the resistance bands may interfere with the punching.
I know when I put the weights down, my punching speed is rediculous.
Do you actually train in boxing?

never took formal boxing lessons...I've always been into Karate/kickboxing, though.
I guess either is fine, but I recommend the resistance band because it's more of a challenge without gravity on your side which gets your muscles more familiar with the actual motion.

Same here, and i've found boxing/fighter type workouts to be very fun and effective.

when I took karate, the most difficult leg workout was bear crawls...they are about as bad as squats:blink: they will sting your ass. The other workouts we did are just plain uncalled for, like fingertip pushups with needles under our palms. This one big dude slid and got a nice ass needle through the palm.:laugh:He's got his own school now, check him out on youtube.

We did bear crawls during football practice in high school, i'd say squats are worse to me...the other shiet is over the top...i'll leave the needles and fingertip push ups alone...i'm too big for that shiet...i'm trying to incorporate Mike Tyson strength and aggression with Roy Jones Jr hand speed and quickness.

I already got good form and technique...I don't have formal training but i've been doing boxing oriented training off and on for like 2 years...a lot more recently.
